For Christmas, my mate got every single episode of Only Fools And Horses on DVD in some big fuck off box set thing off his bird so a few of us went round to his the other day for a couple of bevvies and watched a couple of episodes. We watched the To Hull And Back Christmas special and the one with the "Gary gang" from a few years back and we were all pissing ourselves laughing.

Anyway, is it the best British sitcom of all time, fellow GFers?

Some twat in my building is kicking back enjoying that boxset too; the fucking theiving cunt.

Not the best for me though. The Office and Partridge are both better.

Only Fools went on too long. It stayed around 5-6 years longer than it should.

Best British Sit Com?

Better than

Rising Damp

Porridge

Steptoe and Son

Father Ted

Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin

No but at its best it was up there with them.

It was better than all of them its britains best sitcom voted that for quite awile.

Very funny at times, but completely ruined by the fact that the scriptwriters every so often had to prove to us that Del Boy wasnt just a thieving twat (which he was) but had a heart of gold etc etc etc ....so it basically turned into the worst of American comedy at time s ("Hey, its alright to be funny, but you've got to love your Mom...whilst looking straight to camera)...and as someone said it went on far too long and at the end was completely unfunny,

Fawlty Towers remains the one by which all others should be measured, utter genius. Blackadder runs it a close 2nd.
