Report: Andy Robertson on top of Bayern Munich wish list to replace Alphonso Davies

Interesting one, this.

Obviously he's a brilliant lad, which colours our view of him as fans, but honestly, if the price were right, I could see us accepting something for him. While he still brings value to our squad, his legs do seem to be starting to go and sometimes when that happens the player falls off a cliff quicker than we're ready to admit.

We will probably be looking for a starting-quality left back in the summer anyway, and if we had a good offer for Andy and we thought it could make the difference in being able to afford someone really good, I could see pulling the trigger on that and going with Tsimikas/Gomez/Beck as the depth options.

Depends on the new manager and the way they want to set up. Also if he wants out. Can't see it, also wouldn't be shocked if its Alonso and wanted to bring someone more like Grimaldo in

Add Luke Chambers to the mix as well. Not sure what’s going on at Bayern. An ageing team in need of a rebuild/refresh looking at Robbo, not getting any younger, to replace much younger speedster Davies? Eric Dier, ffs?!

Tough one for me. Still only 30, not injured often. Brilliant player and a leader on the pitch.

Maybe starting to go into decline but unless the money is daft I'd say no.

Unfortunately, I agree - I think at right price a sale should be considered. 

Makes zero sense for them unless they know who their manager is going to be next season and he’s stated he wants Robertson. 
 

From our side I would definitely consider a sale, Robbo is a legend but getting money for a 30 year old who is hugely reliant on his pace and stamina is always going to be good business.

I'd like to keep him but much as I love Andy I can't agree with this;

Liverpool without Andy Robertson will almost be as hard to contemplate as Jurgen departing and fingers crossed it doesn’t come to that just yet.

I wouldn't want him to be sold at least for another year. He is one of the leaders in the team and we need all the leaders in the transition year after Jurgen leaves.

We'd be mad to sell any senior players on the back of Klopp and his staff going. You need leaders in the dressing room and experience of success. The next manager needs these guys around to make it as smooth as possible.

Van Dijk, Trent, Robertson, Alisson, Gomez should all be top priorities to keep at the club. I'd even say Salah should now stay but I think they'll cash in and maybe he wants to go anyway.

The next managers job is going to be hard enough as it is, replacing Klopp, selling any of these players will only make it 1000 times harder.

The point being made by this respected professional football analyst - sorry, "twitter blert" - is that it's not an isolated example.

We have a good mix of left backs and have two senior pros who can play the position other than him, so selling Robertson would not be the worst thing in the world.

I doubt Robbo would chose to go or Bayern pay the fee we would want. He is at a age that you sell him now for a decent fee or you don't make money on him. 

Depends how the new manager wants to set up.
