Kirsten played games at 3.

He did generally play as a opener but would be a issue at 3 IMO,same with Sobers moving up.

He was my ol fella's shout tbh, only quickly checked wiki and they had him down as playing 'test cricket' to '76-77.

 

Only when I checked somewhere else I noticed the discrepency.

 

Wouldn't have been cricket to have kept quiet.

 

True. TBH i have checked wiki for all of my players (apart from the obvious ones) to make sure they were still playing Test Cricket after 1970. Still got a few great players on my list, crosses fingers you lot are not thinking along the same lines.

 

Rite, shopping beckons.....to buy beer or not to buy beer, that is the question...fuck it, buy!!

Another difficult pick, still spoiled for choice really. Went for Younis Khan, who has an unbelievable record, and Michael Vaughan, one of my favourite cricketers. The bonus of picking these 2 is that they give me the freedom to pick them in different positions in the batting order, depending on who I can get later on.

 

Got to say that I'm happy with how my team is shaping up.

Only just noticed Ganguly was still available, was made up getting him on the 7th round. Me reckons PB might have had him on his list too.

I didnt know 'phone a friend' was in the rules. Seem to remember insinuations being made in my direction at the start of the game :whistle:

You guessed right mate. TBF i'm guessing a lot of us had him down and were thinking the same thing..."I'll leave him for one more round as it looks like he'll still be available!"

 

Got at least another 4 very good players up my sleeve, only two picks to go so i'm guaranteed at least 1. Maybe get more than one depending who i pick first and hope that others have forgotten about these players.

 

P.S...i bought beer. A crate of Hefeweizen beer...evening sorted.
