Have Vintage guitars improved much? I bought two about five years ago and they were average. Went out of tune very easily as well.

I bought a black Vintage VS6 and it's ace. Wilkinson used the same specs as the Gibson Vintage Humbuckers to make his own humbuckers. They sound boss. It's about 100-150 quid cheaper than an Epiphone SG and about 4 times as good.

Not looking to hijack the thread but i'm looking to upgrade my standard strat pick-ups with some nioseless ones. Been playing loads of gigs lately and I keep getting lots of hum and buzzing from the lights and god knows what else.

I have a standard USA strat (sunburst). Was looking at the new N3's that Fender have just put on the new deluxe strats. Any recommendatoins on seymour's etc... would be great.

Answered your survey, but, to be honest, I havn't bought any pedals for some time. I have a set of 1985 Ibanez effect pedals in a case providing power. My Cry-Baby Wah-Wah, I bought new in 1978, and my volume pedal (for those subtle Steve Howe riffs) was a throw in when I bought a Gibson Les Paul Studio back in 1999.

Last year I bought a Digitech Digital Loop Pedal, which was the first pedal to be purchased in 13 years, lol.

I customised my Les Paul, by out-phasing the neck pickup a-la Peter Green. Greeny is one of my heroes, and it's been a goal of mine to get his tone ever since I heard 'Black Magic Woman' back in the late 60s. Genius.

Have you looked at bare knuckle pick ups

Cheers for that link mate. I was drooling at the mouth looking at those vintage pick-ups. Interesting to see a set called 'mothers milk'... named after the RHCP album or was the album named after the pick-ups? I could probably find out via Google but cant be arsed.
