Rafa is a talented manager who has brought success to the club, but we are on a rapid downward spiral and need to make a change sooner rather than later for the good of the football club. The results and performances have been unacceptable all season and the style of football is dire. There are very few if any positives at present.

I think the summer of 2008 was where it all started to go wrong for Rafa with the failed pursuit of Gareth Barry which unsettled Xabi Alonso in the process. He wasted approx. £40M that summer on Keane, Riera, Dossena, Cavalieri and Degen, none of whom have provided value for money. Had the money been better invested, then perhaps that would have been the difference between finishing 2nd and winning the title last season, and we would have had a stronger squad this season to cope with injuries and suspensions better.

Rafa looked like a man carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders last night and I can see this getting a lot worse if he remains at the helm.

I think we need to bite the bullet and make a change now, and let Kenny takeover until the end of the season.

Probably not but he has a long contract that we cant pay off!

I cant see how changing the manager will revive this season, he has made mistakes but the players arent helping at all!

Perhaps he has lost the dressing room? If we as supporters are having doubts about Rafa or have decided that he needs to go now, then I am sure some of the players have had similar thoughts.

Henry Winter has previously stated that: "Liverpool can afford to sack Benítez. Compensation would be less than £5 million under the "mitigating the loss'' principle if he found employment".

Interesting - there is no way that Rafa would not work for 4 years just to pick up a cheque - I could do it, but I don't think he could

I agree players may have lost faith in him but they should still go out there and be professional. I can count on one hand the number of tackles i seen over the two game against Reading. They stood off and cruised round like it was a exibition.

That was the most important competiiton left for us and the players acted like it didnt matter!

I am not saying Rafa should not be blamed but simply stating the fact the players do the talking on the pitch and at the minute they are not playing like they should.

But what sane manager would come in and work under the yanks. I had this discussion with a mate last night after the game and does anybody really believe that Kenny would firstly take the interim job and secondly be any good??

I think that a lot of managers would be attracted to us because we are Liverpool first and forermost, regardless of who the owners are. I agree you'd have to like a challenge to take the job on, but it's still a big job for any manager, despite our financial position.

For instance, I think Mourinho would be attracted to us purely down to his ego. I think he'd relish the chance to prove that he could do a better job than Rafa and knock claims that he's a chequebook manager on the head.

I'm not saying we should get Mourinho in, just using him as an example.

???????????????????????????????

The only success he "brought" was with players that houllier had, he has bought in absolute shite, with the exception of torres, but no one could've gone wrong with him.

I'm firmly in the Rafa out camp, but did we not win the FA Cup Final in 2006?

This is all wishful thinking in my eyes. And even if Maureen did manage to find his way to L4, how long before he got sick of the nonsense at boardroom level and fucked off again?

Sorry pal, but put the booze or whatever it is you are on and get your head down for a kip. That is just shit talk.

Whether he is tactically up to the job is up in the air. Whether he could motivate our players is not. I bet most of out squad would run through a brick wall for him.

Mourinho was just an example off the top of my head. I was just using him as a reason why somebody like him would take the job in the first place.
