Watching Hull v Spurs.

How lost does Robbie Keane look by the way. I've never thought he was that great, but he has regressed pretty badly over the last year. Probably a confidence crisis more than anything else, but he seems totally clueless. Good thing Harry took off Bent right now, he would have sunk in the ground trying to get to the bench.

Oh, and Cudicini won't solve their Goalkeeping problem, error for their goal and uncertain on every cross.

No more goals in this I'm afraid, had a small bet on St-Pauli and spurs today. ..

No they don't go gung ho but teams have more of a go here than they do at Old Trafford thats for sure. The mancs have won their last 11 games at home in the league. Doesn't seem to be a problem for them.

No it doesn't.

Do you really think its all because Man Utd attack teams more than us or are they just better at it?

Or are their other factors? The players they have, the money they spend? the mentality of the support? the mentality of the teams who go there?

There's plenty of factors- Its complicated and "If only benitez wasn't so cautious" isn't gonna cut it, no matter how often you say it.

Isn't that up to us then to break these inferior oppostion down then?

Yes it is- but thats not what your thread is about.

And why misquote me to suit your argument? Where have I mentioned the words ''Gung ho''?

Sorry- "Go for the jugular from the off".

Well duh....I meant US going for the jugular from the off not the away team. Do you think we would have won more games at home if we had attacked teams from the first whistle this season yes or no? I can't rememebr the last time I watched us attack from the first whistle and really go for it. We ''control'' games. That isn't good enough when we are supposed to have better players than most in this league.

They break forward after they've denied us the space to play and we push up, leaving space behind us. If you think they go for us "gung-ho" you're the deluded one mate.

Yeah, because that's how Hull went 2-0 up against us wasn't it? Their first performance in the first half hour against us was as good as anything attacking wise I've seen at Anfield.

Woodgate looks like he has gone 15 rounds with Ivan Drago. Cardie what do you ever contribute to this forum apart from being antagontistic all the time? Hulls effective football this season has probably got them about 7 or 8 league places higher than they thought they would be at this stage up to now.

I don't know. Maybe. Maybe Not. Maybe go fuck yourself.

(Sorry, thats a The Departed reference there- no offence)

I'll tell you what I do see, very often when we "Go for the jugular" and that is that we get caught on the break and come very close to conceding. It certainly happened on a number of occasions yesterday and its happened in the past.

So who's to say what approach is best?

You can have your opinion but Rafa's ideas of "controlling" games has served him well so far.

But we are meant to have better players than these sides at the bottom so 9 times out of 10 quality will tell would it not? 7 times out of 13 this season hasn't served him well really up to now has it? Our home form has fucked our title challenge up would you not say?

It's not about being "gung-ho".

It's about sending players forward for set pieces, allowing players to get past the half way line, allowing the right sided midfielder to appear on the left while someone covers his position instead of being rigidly stuck in one area like he's on tramlines - what's the word again? Movement. It's not playing holding midfielders in games where we don't need them, allowing players to take a risk or two and not relying on bastard systems, databases and over complicated tactics.

As for Hull, I think they're going down. Along with West Brom. Which is a real pity because they're both entertaining to watch.

Yeah, Pretty much.

A flukey set piece goal and then they hit us on the counter for the second- With Carra giving away a free kick on the half way line, and having to run all the way back to defend and then putting the ball into the back of his own net?
