Yeah he used to live 3 streets away from me in Menzies St, often used to see him in the Poets Corner pub, many years ago, sadly wont see him anywhere any more, rest in peace Gerry.

I don't want to sidetrack the thread but you'd be amazed at how many people believe that Ringo is a crap drummer.

 

I was listening to an interview with Jack Dejohnette a few weeks back & he named Ringo (along with Levon Helm) as one of the rock drummers whose playing he respects. That's pretty much the end of the discussion for me.
