When I did a photography course a couple of years back, we were encouraged to send our image files to a professional commercial printers as the quality was way better than any printer you could buy for your own use. Also helpful when you were printing in larger (A2+) and non-standard formats. 

 

A few on here are into their photography - they might have better knowledge of available printers for non-professional use.
