One thing Berger had that a lot of our players like benayoun lacked is balls. He was a big game player.

My memories are also that most of his better games came in home games,but its been so long its difficult to remember with any certainty. He did jump out of tackles a fair bit though.

I hope not.  If this season is going to be any fun at all, then we're going to play a fuck of a lot of games, so we're going to need a deep squad.  I don't see the point in scraping Lazar off now (especially as there is no intention to replace him).  If he's good enough to play in the Europa League for Fener, why not for the Reds?

Can't see the point in this. As AoT says, we will have plenty of games across 4 competitions which was why we were beefing up the squad in the first place wasn't it.

Only if you're counting Brannigan, Fulton, Kent, McLoughlin, Yesil, Ilori, etc.  How many of them are likely to see the first team this season?  How many are likely to be good enough?

Markovic may not have set the world on fire last season, but he's got the excuse that it was his first season in a more physically demanding league and that he was in a team that was usually unsettled and a bit shit.  I'd like a chance to see what he'd be capable of once he's had a chance to settle in and when he's playing in a stronger set-up.

This seems a bit like that time when Rafa signed a load of his own "youth" players because he had control over the first team squad and was playing politics because he didn't like the youth set up. 

Rodgers is deliberately fucking off any player signed by "the committee" in order to cement his position of power and decision making.  Apart from Coutinho who is so good that he is protected.

That's how it looks to me too. I just can't get my head around the total waste of precious resources. 

Markovic needs to play, really it's a toss up between him and Ibe who will play for us. If we've chosen to invest the time in Ibe then that's fine but you would think loaning him somewhere of a higher standard than Turkey would be more beneficial

I think he showed enough last season to suggest he can play in a settled side along the forward line. Not a wing back like the Toothed One had him playing. Joke setup.

I also hate him and hope his phone gets nicked.

We need him, more than we need Lallana that is. And is LeAlberto still our player?

It was awful waste of money buying him. What happens next - loaning, keeping, selling for peanuts - is directly related to him being shit and a waste if money.

We can do nothing positive now to rectify the mistake of buying him.

I thought Rodgers's modus operandi was developing young players? We should have looked at Brendan's small print a bit closer before splashing £20m on a youngster. At least we've got Lallana to come back in so we aren't short in the position.

I'll bet my last dollar that we won't play 2 up top in any starting line-up this season. We will be left exposed at the back if that was to happen and that just doesn't fit in with Rodgers's plan to keep himself in employment.

It's all very well pointing out 5th place is par given our financial position but we've really not helped ourselves. There are literally ten's of millions that could have been spent on better players and more competitive wages either out of the door or still in the club.
