Disagree about Mascherano. He's had some great games but also some disinterested ones and has already missed six games suspended (and could easily have picked up another five games suspension against City). Our only consistently good player has been Reina. The likes of Lucas and N'Gog have done well for squad players but most of our first teamers have let us down.

He had a patchy start but since Argentina qualified, which was weighing heavily on his mind as captain, he's been magnificent. Agree about the lack of discipline but that's the nature of the beast.

There may have been a certain element of favouritism in some votes. Equally there are people who will never vote for him out of principle. As a barometer of the fans' perceptions overall I think the Morse coefficients are pretty good.

I don't think he's been our best player, but I DO appreciate the very funny side of him leading the polls on here. The anger stirring reminds me of the animal-fight polls on the GF.
