I know there are a few guys on here who like to give a few tips and thoughts when there is a race weekend coming up.

I'm heading off to The Galway Races on Wednesday and Thursday with a few friends and I'm just wondering if you guys can give me a few tips for those two days (when the race cards are confirmed)?

I would hugely appreciate it.

go on the sporting life website the night before, go to racing on the left hand side, race cards, select Galway, click on each race and have a look at what they select, there's usually a paragraph below the list of horses and they pick the one they consider to be the favourite.

There are a lot of things to look for when choosing a horse, i usually look for course and distance winners and recently I've been going for horses that have been coming 2nd or 3rd in previous runs and are wearing blinkers this time out.

I do that tipster competition on sporting life because it's free. i love horse racing but I hate losing money. I've seen people pick 66/1 winners on there and I look at the info on the race card and I think how the fuck did you pick that? They either must have a tip, they're geniuses or they are lucky as fuck.

Cain,

You are better off just picking any horse at random as everyone wants to own a winner at Galway. You can even get two sure things in the one race as I did yesterday.

By the way bring some warm clothes as I was there yesterday and it was freezing and the rest of the week is not promised much better.

Enjoy your visit.

Just spent the last 20/30 minutes picking out my bets for tomorrow's races. I'm backing quite a few of the horses trained by D Weld as he has had the most winners the past 2 days and had the most winners last year.

Looks like there are a few nice Each Way bets tomorrow. Just hope I can win a little bit of money so that I can go out in Galway in Wednesday night and have a good night!

Dermot Weld has a good record at Galway, you wont go far wrong backing his horses.

What a couple of day I have just had. The experience of having a winner unfold in front of you is class. Especially when it is Ruby pipping AP to the line at the final moment!

I will hopefully be going to Aintree next year while I'm over.

Did you see any nice fillies?
