what does the thread title have to do with what you wrote? Does 'head out of your arse' mean something different in Scotland?
it means get your heads up and be proud of yourselves, at the beginning of the season did you think liverpool would hammer real madrid and play so many memorable games?they have been terrific and each and every one of you should be so proud of this terrific team that you have.it wont be long till your kings of europe again.

"Liverpool are not that far away" is the most overused phrase since 1990 - it does not make me feel any better. Potential is a promise of a better day that may or may not come. It means shit.

I am just praying that Smogs can do us a favour next week and we roll over Newcastle.

I honestly believe that this season is different. We have been good for the majority of the season and need to tweak things slightly for next season. In previous seasons it was expected for us to jump from 4th to first. From second to first is not a huge leap and can be done if we get two or three players in the summer.

I think its also worth talking about the state of the other contenders:

The Mancs will probably loose Ronaldo in the summer. How may more seasons do Scholes, Giggs and VDS have? Will they look to replace them this season with the Ronaldo bounty? Will they sign Tevez?

Chelsea are looking to sell Anelka to raise cash according to recent reports. What about the rest of their aging side? Is Ancelotti coming in? Will he expect to have money to spend?

The Arse. What about Adebayor and Febregas? WIll they stay for another season? Obvioiusly this depends largely on how they fare from now til the end of the season with their CL campaign. Will Wenger spend in the summer or continue to indulge his ego?

Currently i am livid at spurs for being such a bunch of twats.

You must be joking? They score 2 at OT, and then when United get a 'dodgy' penalty to say the least and Andy Gray's mate Mo Mentum comes on the field, United go right on the attack and get another 4? Nothing wrong with Spurs on Saturday. Any team that goes to old trafford and gets a 2 goal lead and only loses by a couple of stupid decisions need to be praised, not condemned.

Whilst that decision swayed the game, they did fucking bottle it second half as well.

Bottle it? Or get tonked by a vastly superior attacking force.

I was expecting a spurs loss on Saturday, and if they'd lost 4 or 5-0, I would be happier than I am now. Hope is the reason I'm gutted. When they went in at the break 2-0 up, United were, in my mind, definitely going to drop at least 2 points. Then they came out and that happened.

The vastly superior attacking force you are speaking of didnt breach their defence in the first half and it can be argued that they may not have had if it weren't for that penalty decision. Spurs were a beaten team after that.

I think maybe they bottled it when they were 4-2 down, but at 3-2, Jonathan Woodgate was striving to stop the 4th going in (I'm convinced still that he did).

Ehhhhh????? The ball was about a yard over the line, very clearly.

And Spurs did bottle it big time. Yes, the 'penalty' was no help, but they folded like a wet newspaper after that, and, as someone wrote on here at the time, for pretty much the entirety of the second half they were playing as if there was five minutes left - so United had 45 minutes of 'five-minutes-left-style playing time', ie, bombarding a team that is sitting back and hoping for the best, at which they excel.

United were not their normal selves in the first half. They looked down, and tired. Then they got the pen and started to look lively again, and walked all over spurs.

Not sure why I still can't see it, having been assured by many people, and watching the replays about 12 times. I just can't see, at the point it is supposed to have gone over the line, that it is over.
