I'm going in 4 weeks time to see Moenchengladbach V Freiburg and a German friend has kindly sorted out tickets for that.

I'm staying in Dusseldorf for the weekend and travelling to the game. Staying in the old town area of the city.

I thought that I would asked the esteemed people of the GF if they have and advice about the place. A few people I know have been on stag parties there the last year or so but haven't come up with much information.

To save me typing a load, read this. https://thetravelersway.com/dusseldorf-the-longest-bar-in-the-world/

You'll have a great time in Dusseldorf, friendly and always a good night out. You have literally one bar after the other and a shit load of places to eat in the Old Town. Another good area is the 'Media Port/Harbour' (MedienHafen) which is right next to the Rhine, nice area and not far away from the Old Town.

Great place to go beer is great and they literally do mark your card when you're at the bar, as they tick your beer mat as to how many drinks you've had till you pay.

Oh and if it's good enough for Auf Wiederesehen then it cant be too bad and luckily there aren't any McGowan's knocking around

The staff at Fatties and Sutton's are class! Just decent Irish bars with a good atmosphere and all the sport on TV. I can recommend Blockhouse or Steakhaus for steak, Fishhaus for fish and Libanon Restaurant for Lebanese food. The Alstadt is full of life and the bars are open late. I go there once or twice a year for work and it suits me because it's chilled & friendly with lots of beer and good food.

Apparently there is a bar there called The Circle bar (or something like that) where you sit at a high circular bar and as you drink your beer you get sucked off by a woman. When Harry the German told me this, I asked how he knew it was a woman. He looked confused and then gulped.
