Hattrick - the free online football management game

Hi!

Hattrick is an online football management game that is played out in real-time week by week and can be found at http://www.hattrick.org. Hat-trick is almost what we at FF tried to do many moons ago under the guise of a game called 'World Football Manager'.

It is a worldwide gaming phenomenon, with over half a million players.

You can manage your player development, club finances, stadium, youth pulls, matchday team etc, and watch your team play its weekend fixture and midweek friendly/cup game in real-time (it plays over 90 mins, not within a few like CM).

Believe me it seems simple at first, but when you learn the tactics to making a good side, its addictive as hell!

Thousands of people? how do the leagues work?

Basically you play in a division of 8 teams, 14 game season, along with a midweek cup match at the start of the season. If you win your league, you may get promoted to a higher division, the better your points tally / goal difference the more chance you have of going into the top instance. Several teams may get relegated from a division but usually only one gets promoted. If you dont win every match of the season, you generally have to play a qualification match against a team who is up for relegation, you win, they go into your league, you go up into theirs!

Why on here?

Well, Hattrick has that midweek friendly slot thats available for you to schedule friendlies with whatever team you want. If we get many teams together, we can arrange a cup tournament that plays out over the course of a season, or maybe more.

What you can do now?

Go to www.hattrick.org and sign up for a team and this is the place to ask your questions or read guides on how to improve your team and get better in the game.

Are there others that plays Hattrick?

Feel free to challenge me for a friendly.

I play Hattrick myself and it's funny how so many other players of that game feel they have to drag strangers into their little weird society of nerds withing the game.

Hattrick player 1: "Right I have an inadequate midfielder with solid passing and his TSI is 890. He's a popular guy who is controversial and honest. I played PIC the other day against a side from VII and was weak (very high) in midfield!"

Hattrick player 2: "Woah there dude, that's like soooo awesome. I've just sold a brilliant right back who had poor experience and weak set pieces. I MOTS'ed last Sunday and blah blah blah...."

Hattrick player 1: "More nerd nonsense......etc.
