  1. When the Premier League introduced fixed squad numbers everything screwed up. No more a classic 2-4-5-3 defence lineup (have anyone noticed that our defenders actually have worn these numbers for the 2 first league matches), it must have been ages since that last happend. But was everything organized as we like to think with our classic lineups in the 70's and 80's. I think I remember that these numbers usually were worn by these players, but I might be wrong. Are we able to make a classic LFC shirtnumber lineup, based on what our finest prefered? 1: Clemence (gk), Groobelaar (gk) 2: Neal (rb) 3: A. Kennedy (lb) 4: Lawrenson (cb), Thompson (cb), Smith (cb), Nicol (rb) 5: R. Kennedy (lw), Whelan (cm) 6: Hansen (cb), Hughes (cb) 7: Keegan (cf), Dalglish (cf), Beardsley (cf) 8: Lee (cm), Souness (cm) 9: Rush (st), Heighway (lw) 10: McDermott (cam), Barnes (lw), Mølby (cm) 11: Wark (cam), McMahon (cm)

  3. Very much the same as The Chef is doing. If we're selling Mascherano and buy Annan, and are able to use approx £20M to bolster the squad in other areas, i recon we'll have a better squad and a slightly weaker first eleven. I guess this would give us more points over the whole season. btw Annan is still just 23 and would still develop to become an even better player.
  4. Zola made a nice impact in PL, but he's the only proven Serie A player that crosses my mind. Other succesful italian imports like Viera, Henry, Bergkamp was highly rated talents that never made it until they left the italian top flight.
  5. I've made a comparison after 1929 when Spain first had a national league. 1947 Liverpool - Valencia CF 1964 Liverpool - Real Madrid 1966 Liverpool - Atlético de Madrid 1973 Liverpool - Atlético de Madrid 1976 Liverpool - Real Madrid 1977 Liverpool - Atlético de Madrid 1979 Liverpool - Real Madrid 1980 Liverpool - Real Madrid 1982 Liverpool - Real Sociedad 1983 Liverpool - Athletic Bilbao 1984 Liverpool - Athletic Bilbao 1986 Liverpool - Real Madrid 1988 Liverpool - Real Madrid 1990 Liverpool - Real Madrid We've never won the same year as Barca! Real with 30 titles have won 7 the same year as Liverpool. Atletico Madrid with 9 titles have won 3 the same year as Liverpool, but two of their titles was won in WWII, this means nearly half of their titles have been won the same years as us. They are underperformers as us, so my prediction is that we'll win the title the same year as Atletico take their 10th La Liga title. This should be enough to convince them to sell us Torres cheaply
  6. 2001 Real Madrid - Man Utd 2002 Valencia - Arsenal 2003 Real Madrid - Man Utd 2004 Valencia - Arsenal 2005 Barcelona - Chelsea 2006 Barcelona - Chelsea 2007 Real Madrid(?) - Man Utd Hopefully Sevilla or Atletico Madrid wins La Liga next season.
  7. He is a central defender 16 years old playing for U19. Actually he can remind a bit about Agger. Calm, Technical with good passing.

  10. Now we're after Torres. http://www.sport.es/default.asp?idpublicacio_PK=44&idioma=CAS&idnoticia_PK=414365&idseccio_PK=849&h=070611
  11. There are just a couple of solutions for Moores that's going to save his butt. And all of those solutions include rejecting Gillett. 1. Invite DIC back for a lower price. 2. He's starting to spend something of the family fortune http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunday_Times_Rich_List_2006 the Moores family are ranked 42 in UK. He still might reject Gillett and search for another investor, but another delay won't save Moores butt.
