Came on in the second half for last half hour and played well. Great wee flick to help set up the goal aswell. Can't believe alonso didn't get a chance though.

Could it just be that with two supposedly straight forward home games, the coach is just looking to save everyones energy a little and Xabi will get his chance on Weds?

I hope xabi does get a game on weds, i'll be there to see it. Spain have some great players but never quite manage to get it right.

To be fair though mate, first choice for Spain is Albelda, Xavi and Baraja before Xabi although in time I am sure Xabi will be the main man.

Baraja is quality and xavi has had a great season, but albelda has missed most of the season and looked very ordinary when playing, i think xabi definitely deserves a chance.

Didfferent players though aren't they mate. Albelda is very destructive and offers less going forward. A spanish Didi if you will. Albelda is also the most cynical footballer ever born, quite an accolade.
