I was in one of the pictures in the Mirror or People. Not all good because that’s how my family found out I smoked. I actually thought the atmosphere around me was better during the penultimate game vs Newcastle. And the Geordies actually applauded us and joined in - they were all right then, just before they started to see us as rivals and equals I guess.

Was in the kemlyn road stand for that game,john garner,lad I know from Halewood ran on at the end with a ball and scored in the kop goal,got arrested and thrown out.the boot he scored with was painted gold and was put in a plaque in the leather bottle pub.!

Great videos. I was top right, as you look at it, that day. Used to go as close to the centre as possible, but had long since fucked that off.

 

Even Jeremy Goss couldn’t spoil the afternoon. 
 

I rarely miss going to the match but seeing those videos gave me a slight pang. 
 

Of course, that feeling is for how it was then, not so much how it is now.
 

Anfield can still be amazing. Some of my best ever times there, came after the ‘last day’. I was immensely proud to have been a kopite though.

Great to see the outside.  I think there is another video on You Tube of it empty the day before, the days before the commercialisation of tours and such when you could just turn up and they'd let you to have a look.
