Bought this month Empire at diner. Megan Fox is blazed across the front cover. I thought I was buying a movie magazine, not FHM.

There's another couple in Grosse Point Blank - where he shoots Ackroyd's henchman then twats him with the frying pan - ace.

A very underrated film

In fact, one of my favourite films. Also, I remember at the time seeing the Doom arcade machine in the convenience store and wanting one.

 

The soundtrack is sensational as well.

Anyone think there should be a space for a certain menacing motherfucker carrying around pressurised air? I do.

 

If only the scene in Watchmen where Rorschach catches up with the child-killer hadn't been tweaked for the film we could have had one of the most iconic finishing scenes ever.

Actually, talking about pressurised air, there's a great takedown in the Bond film License To Kill, where Bond frames the boat captain and then Sanchez kills him in the decompression chamber.

 

I've also come up with these:

 

- Gremlins, when Pablo Aimar's mum does the Gremlin with the blender (and also the microwave one too)

- Samuel L Jackson in Deep Blue Sea

- James Earl Jones in Conan The Barbarian

- Chuck Norris in Way Of The Dragon.

- Dolph Lundgren in Universal Soldier

That Samuel L death in Deep Blue Sea is a bit too cartoonish for me. It's like a cartoon shark pops out, nabs him head first, then drops back.

Is the "Wrong bet" take down in that list. JCVD Vs Attila.

I've always thought this takedown, from Dr No, is one of the most cold, calm, and calculating takedowns in cinema history.

The saving private ryan one is good - the hand to hand fight upstairs in the wrecked building between the jewish guy and the massive german chap.

There's a takedown I really like in one of Van Damme's films. I think it's Hard Target, where he puts a grenade in Lance Henrikson's trousers and then boots him into some rubble. Henrikson gets the grenade out and goes "ahhhhh", thinking he's got away with it, and then it goes off.
