Hicks and Gillett try to steal Liver Bird

So the club now have their own overpriced shite refreshment establishments (where our new stadium should be incidentally) and soon the ground will be surrounded by their cack stalls selling shirts at fifty quid a time. Honestly the club seem to be isolating themselves from the community more than ever. Every visit to anfield i see more and more local establishments caffs, chippies etc shutting down as many of the whoppers and families feel safer in the confines of the ground than out in the mean streets of L4. More people are now going to be done out of making a living/or contributing to their survival by running these stalls. I want our club to embrace the community establishments (even if they are flogging knock off gear) not distance themselves from them. It's becoming a soulless place these days and it's just another reason why my love for Liverpool FC is being severely tested.

Does the ruling cover the Liver Bird image in general, or just the exact one as used in the club crest?

The reason I ask is this: If you type 'Liver Bird' into Google images, the results show a whole variety of birds of different shapes and colours. If the ruling only covers the design in the club crest, then why not just pick another (similar) design to use on 'non-club' produced gear? And here's the clever bit - if the 'new' Liver Bird was adopted as a symbol of the supporter's campaign to get rid of H+G (a sort of anti-H+G symbol) imagine how much more demand there would be for the 'unofficial' shirts. If it's made clear that the official Liver Bird stands for H+G, buying stuff with the unofficial one will be much more desireable. Street vendors could see sales double overnight! Needs to be handled carefully, but there is a real opportunity here to make this trademark thing backfire on the yanks big time. Anyone care to design a new liver bird logo?

Of course, if the ruling covers any Liver Bird image, the above won't work...and any supporter taking a homemade banner or flag into the ground with a LB on it could be sued!

Aye, and Viga could well find they have some issues with the club, they really are a shady shower of shite, of course we will see how onside the marketing department is as regards whether they go after viga to try and stop the protest shirts being made. It would be the absolute epitomy of the way the club is right now, for the lads who are trying to recoup some money for those who have shit on the protest shirt organisers, and try to sell some of the shirts outside the stadium, to get the stuff swiped according to copyright infringement

When Arsenal changed their badge for copyright reasons they did some sort of deal with market traders allowing them to sell official merchandise and allowed them to buy it a heavily discounted rate.

I'd like to think we'd at least do something similar and that the traders can still sell other unofficial stuff.

Walking to the match without the cry of "Hats, scarves or a badge" echoing around the ground would be very sad.
