    Beleaguered Liverpool FC have been given a lift as reports emerged that lenders Royal Bank of Scotland is likely to grant the club an extension on its current deadline for debt repayment to allow the search for new owners to continue. The news comes a day after managing director Christian Purslow, answering a series of questions posed by supporters on the official Liverpool FC website, insisted that the club's strong commercial performance ensured that there was no risk of the club becoming the second in Premier League history to enter administration.
