no offence but the Irish have way too high standards, your a small football country with a poor domestic league, you lost 1-0 away to Czech Republic, so?

Would agree with them being a small footballing country. When I have been over there, it seems that there are about 3 sports bigger than football. Have to say though, if you look at the Irish team, they have some very decent players.

 

Given is a top class goalie. Finnan and Dunne are excellent defenders. S.Ireland is really impressive in midfield and you have Doyle and Keane up front. Hunt imo is a really good player too.

 

Your trouble is that you don't seem to have a midfielder who can stamp his authority on a game. Against Slovakia, you were winning and nobody in midfield seemed to have the ability to calm the game down. The balls were just pumped aimlessly up towards Doyle and Keane and were always intercepted. If you had a Giles, Brady,Keane or Whelan at the present time, you could have a fine team.

 

Your team seems to have no structure. Scotland have showed how far good management can get you.

 

When you think of some of the teams that will play in the next Euros, Ireland will certainly be as good as 4 or 5 of them on paper. Can't really blame the Irish lads for being a bit peeved.

 

Germany look pretty formidable again though.
