Having a mate who is a dick with beer is annoying but its avoidable,in my case I've got a brother who's a spiteful nasty little bastard when he's drinking.I don't go out with him and he's got his own circle of friends but when there's a family get together he always acts up.New years eve a couple of years ago he started giving sarky remarks to my girlfriends dad (a recovered alcoholic) such as "you having a beer??? na you can't can you hahahaha".I pulled him outside,gave him a slap and told him to fuck off,went to come back at me but my other brother stopped me,thank god because I was raging.I don't invite him to anything I'm havin in the house. Yeah,I find that to be the case also,much prefer to not bother goin out and instead go away for a weekend every second month or so

I think if you're looking for consistency week in week out the better option is Downing,in a way he reminds me of Beckham in the sense that he just needs half a yard and he'll deliver a cross.Has a great sense of timing and puts in a solid shift. Young on the other hand has the trickery to beat a man,but he must before he can put the ball in the box,unlike Downing.Some games tend to pass him by. However I think Young would suit a 4-2-3-1 system so much better because he's not as reliant on his ability to deliver a cross,definitely possesses more technical ability than Downing and therefore could fit into several positions. But I was of the opinion that Young was almost a done deal for slur

Met Thommo this morning,he's over here in Waterford for a supporters club dinner dance and he came up to a local schoolboy club to watch a match. An absolute gent of a man,there was 2 schoolboy games on and he gave teamtalks to both our teams before each game,the manager introduced him to the kids "Now lads this is Phil Thompson,played for one of the greatest teams the world has seen,lifted the European cup and played alongside the likes of Kenny Dalglish" to which Thommo interupted him and jokingly said "No,Dalglish played alongside me" he made the kids laugh and although a lot of them would only recognise him from soccer saturday they loved him. Was talking to him for a couple of minutes and the passion for Liverpool is bursting out of him,my brother (who's a Chelsea fan) was beside me and I asked Thommo to shake his hand because it would be the closest any blue would get to a European cup,Thommo just laughed. Anyway its made my saturday,just thought I'd share

Good on the kid,was never the subject of bullying myself or never did I bully anyone.I hated it and often found myself saying to a few lads to leave someone alone,as a kid I used to box so others were wary of that.

Done,just so you know mate,I generally buy books for my kids and part of the experience is actually going into the book store and flicking through each book.It's a great way of spending time with the kids.Might be of no use to you,nut just in case it could be an extra angle to look at it.

I might've mentioned this on here before,I was at an interview one time and it was split into 2 parts.At the beginning of the second interview the girl asked me "Have you any questions?" "Yeah,just about the wages" So she handed me a piece of paper with the breakdown of the pay,quickly reading it and a prompt calculation I decided (in my head) it would'nt be worthwhile taking the job even if offered.So she then says to me "What do you think you could bring to this organisation?" to which I replied "On those wages I'll be bringing a packed lunch" Got a letter in the post to say they wouldn't be taken it any further

Slight variation to the topic but I was building a house a few years ago and was trying to decide on a name,my mam had passed away earlier in the year so I was thinking of deriving a name from an anagram of her name (Aileen Browne).When I put it in I got 'beware online' two days later I got scammed on ebay for a laptop,obviously a coincedence but spooked the shit out of me for some reason. I'll be very disappointed if he leaves because he's obviously a top class player,I'll be furious if he goes to united but to be honest the likes of Gerrard and Carragher are a dying breed.The day when a player spends his entire career with one club out of love for said club is practically non existent,it's perhaps the most flawed and irritating aspect of the modern game,fans can't allow themselves to 'fall in love' with players like we could before.
