  1. Redshadow, I agree with what you are saying and touched on it in my post. I do believe it has a lot to do with our mentality and being ruthless and 'going for the throat.' However, throwing men forward and attacking more does not necessarily guarantee you a goal. I just think that you need that added quality, somebody other than Gerrard or Torres to create a little bit of magic when we aren't playing too well. I do agree that in games where it is 0-0 against lesser teams or even 1-0 we should be attacking and looking to score more goals. My point is that with another quality attacking option in key areas, we can create more. Surely this is the problem? We seem to take our chances well and generally when our players get in the right position they find the net. However, in certain games we push forward, keep the ball and dominate but can't find that final ball or bit of quality we need to get us a goal. This is where a quality creative player will help and you also have Yossi, Kuyt, Alonso, Riera to chip in aswell. Interestingly, between the four of them they have scored 25 goals this season. Our problem isn't scoring goals as a whole, it is scoring goals when we aren't playing well or when we face stubborn teams who set out to stop us attacking. A quality creative player will give us that edge we need and with a little more ruthlessness we can really rip teams to shreds as we have been recently. Admitedly this has been due to us being more ruthless but to sustain it all season we need an added attacking option.
  2. I think there is a number of reasons we need a really creative player. Firstly, the games we have drawn 0-0 this season, the Stoke games for example. Teams toward the lower end of the table generally set up against us to purely defend and keep us from scoring. In these games you need a little bit of magic or that deft touch to set up a goal etc. With an added creative talent, we'll have a player to provide this. Furthermore, in these games you tend to see Gerrard and Torres being marked very closely or even doubled up on...teams target them as the threats. However, with another quality attacking threat, he'll have more space with Gerrard and Torres being marked. Even if they then decide to mark him closely, the rest of the team will have more space. It's all about firepower and having players who can create something from nothing. Realistically, we only have Gerrard and Torres to do this. Would it hurt to have three 'genuine' creative players. By creative I refer to creating something from nothing. Secondly, clean sheets have been mentioned and how we've conceded goals in games that we shouldn't have. I think the point is that had we scored more goals in these games and had the benefit of another quality attacking threat then we wouldn't of had to worry about conceding late goals and hanging on at 1-0. It could be also be said this is down to our mind-set and sitting back when we are 1-0 up. However, adding another quality attacking option will only increase our chances of scoring and arguably provide us with more chances to turn a 1-0 into a 2/3-0. Take United for example. They rely so heavily on Rooney, Ronaldo and Tevez and Berbatov to a certain extent. How many games have they been 0-0 or with the scores level and then any of these four pop up with a goal towards the end. We have Torres and Gerrard but outside of these two, it's hard to see where that bit of individual brilliance will come from. Who this player is I don't know, I'd love us to sign David Silva. I think he'd be great here and really improve our attacking options. Silva, Barry and Tevez would be great and give us that added push to win us the title next season.
  3. As mentioned he was useless in the Euros and watched him recently against Wales...he was no better to be honest. Seems as though all the hype is misplaced but his goalscoring record in the last two seasons has been impressive? Who knows?
  4. No matter how much I hate Manchester United, that was not a foul, he took the ball and he did not deserve to be sent off. If it had happened to any of our players, we would all be incensed..Personally, I feel sorry for the lad. It doesn't matter anyway, he'd only have been chasing shadows while Xavi and Iniesta work their magic!
  5. Mickey Rourke or Elijah Wood (He was wild in Green Street and such a badboy in LOTR, obvious choice really)
  6. Just thought I would update you on this...recieved a message thing off this guy again, just after United won...I'd love to meet him and smash his face in. 8. I was at the Emirates for the Cardiff City game in the FA Cup, my dad's a Cardiff season ticket holder so had two tickets so I said i'd go. Anyway, they beat us 4-0 but at no point did any of their fans show any sign of singing or support and they even booed a few times when the ball was lost. The Cardiff fans sang throughout and really showed the Arsenal fans up, they were 4-0 down and still singing at the top of their voices with the Arse fans silent. They just seem to think they have some right to look down on all teams because they play 'proper football.' When the truth is they play good football and often too much good football, no cutting edge. I just hate Arsenal, this fat old gooner was jumping around and jeering towards us in the pub yesterday when Arshavin scored the fourth, I was seething and then Yossi scored and we went mental and his face just dropped, it was brilliant.
  9. Hi mate, I've had the Western Digital 3.5" Elements Hard Drive for about 2 and a half months now and it's been fantastic. When I bought it I was told they had sold 150 of these beauties and had none returned, compared with other choices such as Seagate and Maxtor that had been returned for being faulty. Anyway, I bought mine for £100ish but I've found it is on offer at Dixons at the moment..Western Digital 3.5" Elements 1TB External Hard Drive - cheap 3.5 inch External Hard Drives - Dixons.co.uk Hope this helps.
  10. Use DVD Flick...Simple converter and burner. Download avi's off mininova...search for axxo, fxg and fxm, they have a whole bunch and they are all top quality. Then as mentioned above, download VLC Media Player because it plays almost any video file and saves the fuss of codecs etc
  11. A cheeky bid for Sebastian Giovinco. He will a world-beater, he's really skillful and a great crosser..only problem might be his height but I think he'll make it and would be great for us
  12. Thank you mate, I only posted this because it infuriated me how some fans can be so one-eyed and be so against their rivals that all morals and respect just go out the window. Apologies if I have offended anyone by posting this and it wasn't meant as a post declaring all Man United fans as disrespectful, brain-dead individuals. They are in the minority and I am friendly with a number of Man United fans but only because they support THEIR club and what it stands for, they don't support the hatred of Liverpool F.C. It goes without saying that if we lose or drop points etc. there will be banter, same as I would give them a hard time if they lose. However, I just think that these type of fans need to wake up and realise that football is a game at the end of the day. We all get (extremely) passionate and I am no exception, I often hate what Man United do but I hate what they do and how they act, I don't hate who they are to the point that I will slag them off just for playing for the other team. Anyway, that was all a bit random and I hope we win number 19 this season just so I can send this guy a massively long message telling him how much of joke he was for thinking the title was a done deal. Come on Redmen. YNWA
  13. I don't post on here much and I have been negged for it recently, being called a 'lurker.' I don't really mind as I just like reading what you guys have to say and don't necessarily feel the need to share my opinion. However, I will make a conscious effort to post more frequently as from now. Anyway, I feel the need to share this conversation with the forum and it just demonstrates how idiotic and brain dead some Man United fans can be. I don't know this guy, he posted on one of my mates facebook status, in reply to what I had said. Here you go:
