I thought this bloke claimed to be a red? He makes Maddock look like an ardent fan.

 

Backed us to lose AGAIN in the Mirror today & says we'll get beat 2-0 at Leverkusen in midweek. He constantly said we'd never get through the group stage and originally predicted we'd lose the 1st leg, describing us as "the worst team to ever reach the knockout stages".

 

Fuck knows what that makes Leverkusen then. :telloff:

There was a whole thread dedicated to "Del" on TTWAR as he did a piece ripping and ridiculing Rafa in the Mirror. Maddocks couldn't have done a better hatchet job.

 

He's Jimmy McGovern's brother you know.

I'm sure he didn't want us to lose, but he is a football tipster - can you blame him for doing his job?

 

Now, if only I had broken the unwritten law that says never bet on matches involving your own team, and piled on Newcastle to win at ridiculous 8-5 odds, I would have made a killing.

I accept he's got a job to do & it wasn't today's tip I objected to, just the fact that he seems to back against us EVERY week & as bad as we've been at times, to deem us the worst side to ever qualify for the knockout stages of the CL is just short-sighted bollocks. We had the hardest draw of any English club in the group stages & still made it through fair & square.
