It's like the game was on a knife edge and they had us on the rocks or some shit. We could have lost three players and still won.

We laugh it off but the way their club and staff consistently tries to shift blame in our direction is a big source of all the bile from the fans these days. All started with the "people's club" stuff. Kenwright, Moyes, Lampard all especially guilty of it. Weak leaders looking for a get out of jail card. Don't look at me, look at the kopites.

It's also a big source of their failure to recognise the rot at the heart of their club, so it's swings and roundabouts.

It was the same shit a couple of years back when Lampard was in charge and we won 2-0 in a completely one-sided game. One of the most cynical performances from a supposed top flight team I've ever seen- even Alisson took the piss near the end by collapsing on the ball as Pickford had been doing throughout. There was one mildly contentious 'decision' where they didn't get a penalty because Gordon dived (of course), and that (of course) was the reason they lost, not the pathetic lack of any ambition bar getting ten men behind the ball from the first minute to the last. Still, it wouldn't be Everton without a healthy dose if 'ifithadnabinfer'.

One thing that still hasn't been mentioned was the volley of abuse Young gave to the 4th official as he was walking down the tunnel. Will he get an additional one match ban, or has that been forgotten about now Virg was made an example of? Or maybe the abuse wasn't as heinous as his "fucking joke" comment.
