Liverpool 0 Everton 2 (Feb 20 2021)

Ok so this one will be REALLY brief. I’m not in the least bit surprised by what happened because records have been falling all over the fucking place lately. Unbeaten home record gone. Three losses at home for the first time in fuck knows how long. Now it’s four losses in a row for the first time in almost a hundred years. So yeah, if Everton were ever going to win ‘at Anfield’ it was now.

This isn’t Anfield though. We all know it. This isn’t even football. It’s fucking shit and it’s fucking bent. That penalty decision was so bad I didn’t even get angry, I just shrugged. It did look as though finally we’d see VAR do its job properly but no. Andre Marriner knew it wasn’t a penalty and told Kavanagh to go and look.

When that happens, I can only recall one other time when the ref stuck to his original decision (ironically it was Marriner refusing to give a pen against Fabinho at Fulham). Yet this Manc cunt looked at it for two seconds and stood by his clearly wrong decision.

He didn’t even look at it from a different angle or take a second viewing just to be sure. Why? Because he WANTED to give a pen. Simple as that. Same as that other bellend on VAR last week wanted the Leicester player to be onside. Any time there's a decision to be made these fuckers are allowing their own bias to decide what they want to give. Half the fucking refs in the league are from Manchester but they all support Altrincham or fucking Bury apparently.

If any of you were remotely surprised by this then I don’t know what to tell you. If by this point you still think this is legit and simply down to incompetence then there really is no decision that will ever change your mind. I mean seriously, what is it going to take for you to accept what’s going on? When there's a chance to fuck us they take it.

But we didn’t lose just because of that penalty. That merely saved Everton from having to see out the final fifteen minutes, which they may or may not have done. We looked as though we’d ran out of steam by that point anyway and I never felt as though we’d equalise. But we were robbed of the opportunity by that ludicrous penalty. We’ve got a history of scoring really late goals against them and that might have caused some nerves at their end, but the pen saved them from that.

I've never seen a penalty given for that before and I doubt I ever will again. Not unless it happens to us again anyway. Kavanagh should be made to explain himself but there's no accountability. They can just give whatever decisions they like without any kind of comeback.

I’m not even wasting any more time on this. The first half was awful and we didn’t do anywhere near enough to overcome the terrible start we made. The second half started better and we had a good spell but when the goal didn’t come in that period I held out little hope after that. The forwards were shite, in particular Bobby who I’ve just about given up on now. Salah and Mané weren’t much better in truth.

The midfield created fuck all but, you know, I really think that’s as much about how we set up and what they’re told to do as it is anything else. I watched City last week against Spurs and they have midfielders breaking into the box all the time. Gundogan is outscoring our forwards over the last couple of months.

But fuck it, I can’t be arsed with any more analysis of what’s going wrong. Everything is. Honestly, I don’t even want to watch anymore. I’ve had enough of lockdown footy as I despise it. I said last week if this wasn’t my job I wouldn’t be watching. Now I’m thinking I might not watch anyway, job or no job. I almost switched off at half time and I wish I had.

It’s bad enough just because of the way we’re playing but when you factor in this rampant cheating by the officials then what’s the point? They are literally making up their own rules now yet fuck all is said and done about it.

Why am I even watching anymore? I’m getting nothing out of this except stress and misery. I can accept us being shit, I can’t accept all this other fucking shite we’re having thrown at us though.

And now Hendo is injured as well? This season needs to fuck off and die.

Team: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Kabak, Henderson (Phillips), Robertson; Wijnaldum, Thiago, Jones (Shaqiri); Salah, Firmino, Mané:

(Origi came on for someone but I’d stopped paying attention by then so don’t know who went off)

I always thought we respected our players ( present and past )  or do we only do that when things are going well.

Calling anyone who gave 100 % for the jersey a **** is cheap but maybe it's the world we live in now sadly.

As for mentioning GOT that's what this forum might turn into if people keep thinking these conspiracy theories.

It's not a conspiracy theory though is it?

People do for the most part, but you just got to call a twat a twat when you see one and Carra really is one. The spitting fiasco, going to the PL celebrations etc, thats without his god awful commentary, neediness to be accepted as neutral from the common blert and general desperation trying to keep his cushty sky job. They'll always be respect for what he did as a player, but it shouldn't give you a license to be a bellend.

Love Carra for Istanbul. Always will. But as a pundit? He can fuck right off. Genuinely feels as though post-gob he’s notched his “impartiality” up a notch, like he’s Sky’s grass or something and he just has to dance to whatever shit is out in front of him.

Gooch

I'l admit i'm going off Carra because of a few of the very points you rightly mention there. However I met him at a meet and greet before lockdown and it was very obvious he loved the club.

Maybe I'm old school but anyone calling any ex player a **** needs to have a long hard look at themselves but that's just me.

The bit that really really hurts, and hurts badly, is that even if VAR came out over the next few days and publicised bad judgement by the ref, and apologised for the decision, it changes nothing. Zilch. Whereas at the time, it could have changed the game and the result.

Extremely disheartening.

Carragher is in last chance saloon with Sky after his spitting incident. He’ll tow the line even if it means him going against us. Sold out. And although Kabak is not the answer the way he slaughtered him all game was a disgrace.

Seriously dockers do you honestly think that was a pen ?

That was never a penalty . As a defender just because you put your hand on an attackers back does not mean you have fouled him.  Mane was looking for it there out of desperation.

Yeah we all thought the same about Lovren in the derby a few years back didn’t we only to be told by Shearer and his media mates that actually you can’t do that so DCL fully deserved his pen that day too. These pundits have the integrity of a Tory MP.

I just love watching the media narrative shift depending on who’s being fucked over, it’s an absolute joy it really is, in the same way WWE used to be a joy when I was 10.

I can't believe how gutless we were. The players have been told/trained to keep their emotions in check. Fuck that let them show some emotion, you can't have intensity all time if you are drilled like robots.

Get in their faces, tell the ref he's a cunt and deck their fucking players when we've lost the fucking match and the season is over.

To be fair, in the 2nd half , Mane did shout 'fuck you' at the ref or something similar. Got yellow carded for it.

Trent and Robbo also left a bit in on the Everton players a couple times during the game. I do agree that our players generally need to do more of that. The worry is these refs cant wait to fuck us over. They would dish us as many red cards as possible if they had the chance. And having multiple players on 3 game suspensions isn't going to help in our chase for 4th spot. It is still within our reach.

I'd like to know what the difference was between the Trent challenge and the one on Mane I think against the Newcastle keeper when he stood up and stopped Mane getting to the ball by knocking him off his feet.

It's fairly obvious now that oppenents see Liverpool as a great scalp to take (that's fair enough, if you're the best you become the benchmark to be measured against) but more importantly it's a stage for the referree to make a name for himself. Reffing Liverpool is as big as it's going to get; how can a ref make himself look like he's made the wrong decision by going against it. VAR: check it. Ref: Fuck off, you're not making me look an idiot at 7pm on Saturday night on BT Sports. Next week I'll be the referree for the fucking Burnley match, what's that gonna do for me?

I disagree strongly with the bolded bit. Teams know we're an easy mark, thats all there is to it. So much so that Mourinho probably needs sacking for his team's timid display against us.

Serious question Daisy.

How can you call a player who was instrumental in us lifting the Cl in Istabul a ****. ?

Carra is a cunt of a human being. Imagine if Diouf had gobbed on a child and ask yourself if you'd be on here defending him. I can't speak for @Daisy but some of us are capable of separating the player from the man.

The ref hasn’t blew the whistle and this cunts calling dives on our players getting hit.

The sad thing is, our players are terrible at going down after being clipped and the overreaction is getting them taken off us.

Weve never been cute under Klopp for this but it’s got to be done as every other teams getting them for lesser fouls.

Trent was panic struck against Sterling those last 20 minutes the other week cos he knew if he went within an inch of him he was going to hit the deck and the foul would be given without question.

What I’d give for Luis Suarez this season.

It's fair to say if Liverpool lay out the way they have been recently. However they showed against West Ham if Klopp changes the way the team is set out it may not be so easy just to sit and defend. It's a mystery why he reverted back to 433 after that match. It's not working so why persevere with it when it's clearly been worked out.

Yep, baked potato head is the worse for it. If it’s Salah or Mane they’re diving, Kane or Vardy are entitled to go down if there’s contact. He’s far from the only one either, his oppo space hopper head is just as bad.

Switched on Motd against my better judgement to see what those fuckwits Murphy and Keown take on the penalty was Quelle surprise they both thought it was , you really shouldn't argue with idiotic opinions like that they only drag you down to there level

I’d quite like to know when we’ve hit rock bottom as every weekend it appears we have only to fall another level lower.

Doesn't get lower than being beat by a shite Everton side, they are the lowest point.  Although if we keep playing this 433 trying to play a half arsed high line with players who look more fatigued than last year with midfielders in defence and firminho taking up a space then we may stay on this low point for a while.

I said the same thing, Dave. The ref wanted to give that pen no matter what VAR said. He ran over to the monitor and they didnt have chance to run the vid. he just looked at the freeze frame screen and went fuck it, pen!

His actions are beyond belief never mind what is Trent supposed to do there? OK if that's the new norm and the striker runs into a grounded defender who hasnt a clue where the forward is and all refs give pens for that, Im on board.

But we know they wont and even if they did, they wouldnt give it us. How come Trent's a pen yet Kean's two handed push in the back isnt? Carragher can fuck off with his 'not enough' to give it. Funny as fuck, they seem to be against us.

Ithink there's more going on in the background though. Sadio just seems to have a sulk on all the time. I reckon I could knock him off the ball in a 1 on1 now. Last season he was like a brick shithouse and you had to bring him down to stop him.

I think Gini's situation is probably unsettling the group as well.

Absolutely. I think there’s large parts of this squad who know they’re not getting pay rises they want and rumours that contracts are not being improved and that ginis situation was like a test case for them is spot on. Unfortunately Modern footballers are money motivated so if they think they’re not getting what they’re worth of course they ain’t going to run themselves into the ground.
