  1. He objected to them using his name without paying him I think. Same thing happened with the Germany team having to be populated by made up players. Image rights and all that.
  2. He sums up all that is wrong with football. Average player who spends his time saying "look at me" on Twitter, which he will have lots more time to do when he's banned. There's a reason no big club would touch him. Newcastle have flourished without him, Carroll and Nolan. Coincidence?
  3. Luuk de Jong is 21. And, more five year plans?
  4. You would have thought so, but the Telegraph's financial work that reported this sum for City, also showed us with the fourth highest wage bill in the league. Revealed: the financial health of the Premier League laid bare - Telegraph
  5. I'm really unsure over whether he will continue. There is no room for sentimentality here; Kenny knew that when he moved Phil Neal on. The amount that has been wasted in the transfer market since January 2011 is criminal. Spent wisely it would have been enough to be back in the top four. Instead, we've actually gone backwards. While I would like Kenny to have the chance to turn things around, I have to admit that if I were FSG I would be reluctant to give him much more to spend.
  6. Out: Downing - 10M Kuyt - 3M Henderson - 10M Adam - 3M Maxi (wages) Spearing - 2M Total - 28M In: Maiga - 7M Hermann - 10M Albiol - 6M Ramirez - 15M Vazquez - 10M Total - 48M Please, no more British players.............
  7. That he can start for us, in an FA Cup final, tells us all we need to know about the dross now clogging up our ranks. Big heart, determined, but nowhere near good enough.
  8. They will. And they won't qualify for 2014, at which point the Owl will be sacked. This English manager lark will stay popular until it hits the FA's pocket.
  9. It's being killed by not being the focus of the day or the final game of the season. It should be 3pm on the final Saturday or Sunday of the season.
  10. There's no doubt he's a quality manager, despite England's World Cup failure. But at 65, he wouldn't be a long term appointment and he would cost a fortune. He would jettison Carroll and Downing at once though and there would be no 'buy British'.
  11. We need to be mining leagues where there is still some semblance of value. France and Germany for example. Newcastle have been spectacularly successful in the market. I think, for the Carroll fee we'd have been able to hoover up Reus and Hermann from Gladbach, two of the most promising talents in Germany. In truth, I don't expect our activity this summer to be any more well informed than last summer. Bent, Defoe, Sinclair etc as targets. On the outs, I actually think Suarez will want to leave if someone like Barcelona, Real Madrid, even PSG, come in with a big bid.
  12. I don't know that he didn't ask for a sofa and was bought a lamp.
  13. If he's jettisoned but Comolli stays then I don't see what the point is. Rubbish has been bought, but who is accountable? I would get rid of Comolli and give KD a summer to buy/sell who he wants.
  14. Them prices are a disgrace. Didn't Platini say he wanted to move it to Saturday so more kids could go? Like they will with those prices. Nothing to do with increasing TV income for getting it on prime time like was it...
  15. Is right. Anyone can sign up to post anything on Bleacher Report - they know no more than we do. Just someone trying to get some clicks for their ramblings...
  16. Neymar would be a great buy and I'd also snap up that Brazilian Weiliton from Spartak Moscow. We'd get both, and change.
  17. Metro - more chance of Messi coming then.
  18. Isn't he struggling to get a game in Moldova? What's the follow up? Diary of a Burger Flipper?
  19. La Liga's getting to be a joke with Real and Barca dominance and it's not going to change any time soon. The major problem is that the TV rights are sold on an individual basis, rather than the collective agreement we have here. So while Real can get £80-100M per season for TV rights, someone like Hercules will struggle to get much at all. The gulf is just ridiculous.
  20. That's something I agree with. I don't want to talk about ridiculous stuff that's just been made up by goal.com or caught offside.
