  4. Just sent this to the FA.. My enquiry relates to whether The FA has any controls in place for measurement of referee statistics. In many walks of life top professionals are measured statistically to look out for anomalies. For example surgeons are measured against death rates to ensure the safety of all patients that go for operations. Schools are subject to league tables to measure standards. I wonder whether The FA has such measures to enforce impartiality amongst the officials? I have no doubt measures are in place to ensure a referee doesn't get to officiate in games of teams they inform you they support, however an assurance from an official should not be the 'be all and end all'. I write this as I have come across a recent statistic. Liverpool have lost 14 of the last 22 games refereed by Howard Webb. I'm not going to list those decisions that have gone against Liverpool (that is too subjective). This figure is clearly an anomaly and I wonder whether these stand out figures are investigated as the would be in other walks of life? Many Thanks.
  5. I voted unsure/dont know after the Stoke Game. Can I change my vote to no?
  6. Ive always thought this was the cause of problem with refs and decision making. If a manager has the power to criticise and therefore get a ref banned from a certain stadium for 5 years, then this behaviour encourages managers to do so. Refs are human beings (just). They are ambitious by nature. They want to ref the top matches, matches in the champions league, world cup etc. You get to that level by reffing top matches in the Premier League. The top matches in the Premier League over the last few years have featured Man U's and Chelsea's. Now, if the referee makes a bad call against Man U and Ferguson comes out and tears him apart and he is potentialy kept away from Man U for a year or two it hampers his progression. he can still ref Norwich v West Brom, but wheres his career progression? Yet the FA make a selective decision for each game? therefore encouraging this behaviour from managers. If a ref has a 50/50 decision to make at a Chelsea home game, knowing Mourinho is on the bench and can tear him apart in the press and stall his career, which way is the ref going to go? The whole point of the fixture computer in my eyes is to remove so called bias of the way fixtures come out, so why does some gobshite in an office somewhere get to dictate who refs which games. If was purely random selection, it does away with the whole senario.
  7. We should all worship him not just the press. Saddam Hussain style statues need to be erected and we should all prey 5 times a day into the direction we believe we are facing him. He is that good.
  8. it doesnt count you know? after he has saved it, its all over
  9. The Nazi's were not as evil as the devil who is on their badge. Why the fuss now?
  10. Might not be a popular choice but i'd give joe allen a game over moses today. coutinho still not yet fit, allen been fit for a week or two. fancy him at home today with a bit of space created by suarez and sturridge
  11. I've often gone to Anfield and had a gay old time spotting chinks in the oppositions defence. I would often say to friends i'm looking forward to a cheeky fag after the game. I would often nip off at half time to buy some food. All these exploits now appear to be banned. Also Margie Clarke calls everyone Queen. Is she now banned?
  12. Stuart Downing is no more that 6-7 out of 10 player. Each game he will trott out, do nothing special but not a disaster either. He is at his ceiling level and will never improve on it. If your happy with that pick downing. We have plenty of options now in his position and his place in the side is up for grabs. I think if Sterling has come back stronger and hungrier he deserves his chance to stake a claim. Keep him, let him fight for his place.
  13. expedia, trivago, skyscanner. all i use for cheap hols.
  14. Claire Tomlinson missed off the list. Shameful. Wouldn't go that route myself mind, but old claire should at least be an option for the older forumites.
