Agree with both of these... Benega would be a cracking little player. Is he still at Valencia? I lost interest in Spanish football when Mourinho started winning things.

He was a player who never let us down with his important goals and he was an important players the year we should have won the title under Rafa... I believe he only got away with being a decent wide man for us because we had such a devastating spine at one point and a prolific striker. His decline has mirrored the teams in my opinion. I fully expect us to have identified a winger to come in and do a job for us as we desperately need to stop playing Henderson there. I wonder if Adam Johnson will be that man as his lack of games have surely cost him his place to Downing this summer in the Euro's...

You need to get behind a vision when appointing a manager in cases where quite major changes are required. My only hope is the owners get behind Rodgers in the way Everton have got behind Moyes. I believe the rewards will be big but the short term will be tough.

I'm going to buck the trend and say I'd be delighted with Redknapp. He's got a track record of getting his teams playing the right way and the media would support him (which is unfortunately important these days). He also appreciates and respects the size of our club and it's traditions. I think it is bollocks though. He has taken Spurs as far as he can but he wouldnt move north having already turned down the Newcastle job, although the fact it is Newcastle might also have played a part.

I personally think Rodgers doesnt want to look like he's whoring himself out. I think his thinking would be either make an offer to Swansea to take me off their hands or fuck off, I've got a season to prepare for.

Kenny to stay. I would lose faith in football if he went. Especially after the past 3-4 years of pain we've had to collectively suffer. I just hope we get lucky in the transfer market this summer. A top winger and central midfielder would solidify us. Coates coming good and cementing his status as 3rd choice centre back would also be nice. Waving goodbye to Spearing and Kuyt but hopefully not missing the latter would also be pleasing.

End of last season it was "pass & move" (Suarez, Meireles, Maxi, Lucas) This season we become the "ball hoggers" (Downing, Enrique, Adam) and we totally lost our way and any penetration we had. Suarez can be guilty of this also but the difference is, he is leagues above the rest of the squad (Gerrard aside) and can do things nobody else can. Edit- The only players we signed over the summer who fit in to last seasons finale of free flowing football are Bellamy and Henderson. For all his critics, Henderson does do the simple things well and keeps the ball moving.

People are saying the owners havent got a clue. I think the owners havent got the money and most certainly do have their heads screwed on. We were bought on the cheap and I'm sure if an oil rich Arab came in for us and offered the owners a good return they would take it and consider it job done. We need to remember where we were... However, if we had spent the past £100m wisely we would be challenging for the title this season and we wouldnt care about the stadium situation. -

I wasnt suggesting we kept Torres until the summer. I was more wondering why we spunked £35m on a striker who had probably played no more than 15-20 Premier League games. He had a good start to the season much like Zaki did a few years ago, before falling off the face of the earth. Plus he was injured when we bought him. At the time I thought we had money to spend so was just happy to see us make a statement. Now I think we will be spending the usual £20m per season like we always have and therefore shouldnt have been so hasty. We could have got Crouch back for no more than £10m had we tried.

Losing Torres and signing Carroll has defined our season. Had we kept Torres to partner Suarez or waited until the summer and signed a proper £20-30m striker, we would be a lot closer to a top 4 finish this season. Maybe Kenny is to blame for that, maybe the owners and Comolli. Either way, I dont think we need to do a lot in the summer but we do need some brave decisions over which PLAYERS come and go. The management of the club should remain in place. The rewards will be greater down the line with stability and the current structure in place.

I didnt realise the entire middle tier are Club Wembley seats. I was expecting those seats (although limited) to be the £90 seats. I reallly dont understand how the ticket prices were worked out when you see where the £90 ones are.

Are tickets likely to all go to fans who went to last nights game and season ticket holders? What about the fans who have attended all the away games in the run this season? I can see a lot of unhappy fans.
