downloading films help!

I used to have no problem using torrents to get movies and then watch them through a variety of DVD style player programs.

 

Since formatting the PC I am having loads of problems. The main problem is that all files are being downloaded as if they are a microsoft media file and then when I use DivX or whatever the programs are used they just say there is no video file there!

 

I think it is to do with the way I am downloading a default format or something - any ideas?

Maybe you're downloading illegal films and stealing from film artists. Thats the problem you have to sort out first.

Just get Videolan/VLC player. It'll play most formats.

on as Similar note iv been dowmloading some files and they come is pieces of about 7.

 

they are all winrar downloads so i downloaded winrar so i could watch them but not its asking for a password.

 

your help is much appreciated

was it a trial version you downloaded?

 

I had a similar problem - winrar worked but winzip wants a password!

just been toild the password is on the page were i downloaded the file from so ill have a look there

People put the passwords on zip and rar files to stop the hosts from seeing what they are and therefore deleting them should they be files that breach their terms of service.

 

Be very careful with password protected files that have been compressed, I had an experience with one that caused one of my old machines to die a painful death.
