Bejaysus, Potatoes, you can shove it up yer bellacks, feck orf and all that. I am looking to visit the emerald isle in May for a few nights with the missus. (3 nights) can anyone reccommend anywhere decent and cheap (emphasis on the cheap) to stay.

I've sorted flights for £70 return for the pair of us (would've been £9.98 without tax the bastards) so i need to find somewhere decent to stay.

any help much appreciated.

Try hotels or B&Bs, perhaps youth hostels too, you can stay at any of those in Cork.

I have never been to Cork, but I have been to York, if that helps?

it does help actually Emlyn, it eliminates you from the list of people to ask what there is to do in Cork, so all i have to do is find you on my list and i can cross you off. I wish i'd alphabetised this fucking list!

so what is there to do in Cork? I only booked it because it was cheap and i know nothing about the place, i have seen a few reviews of what is about but i would love to get some ideas from people who have been.

Go to Kinsale some night. It's a great place. I remember a restaurant called The Shack, but I don't know if it is still there or not because I am talking about 5 years ago. It was a brilliant place for food.

just googles it and it looks like its still there, seems quite cheap too.

i like this little snippet:

A place where family, friends and visitors alike will find the warmest of welcomes and enjoy the taste of Irish, Italian and Mexican cuisine

Ah, the bland of mexican and Irish, why's that not been done before!

Cheers mate.

I was only around 12 or 13 when I was there, but I can remember how big the knickerbocker glory was. But Kinsale is a lovely place in general.
