Heart was damn near jumping out of my chest this morning, as it has last few times I've been on the lash. I really should can the drinking because it surely can't be good that you have heart palpitations as your body tries to get rid of the alcohol.

They'd have to be making a sound for it to sound shite. Almost absolute silence for most of the match. It was bizarre, like everyone was still on the international break.

Bought myself the newer Fire Stick so I can watch the unmentionable, as my old Fire TV is on its last legs. Apart from that, there's not a lot that hasn't been cheaper at other times of the year.

Empireland by Sathnam Sanghera. I honestly think that these kind of texts should be essential reading, especially in schools, as the consequences of Imperialism are felt as much now as any other time in our history. I believe there's a shorter version of this book for kids aged 9+ which I'm going to buy for our kids as it will help them understand a bit more of our history and why we are here*. (*Answer: because you were there)

Started a couple of shows recently that are quite promising. Culprits, a heist show on Disney+ with the delectable Gemma Arterton, and Monarch on Apple TV with the Godzilla universe and Kurt Russell. Easy, don't have to engage the brain too much in autumn/winter, TV.

Honestly, still not numb to what's happening. The west is standing by and watching ethnic cleansing happening on an industrial scale. All because consecutive Israeli governments believe in a fairy tale written a few thousand years back. It's amazing how the Middle East is so governed by fairy tales, even "the only democracy in the middle east".

Gemma A. used to attend the all girls school that backed on to my gran's house in Gravesend. So there's a remote possibility that I've seen (or spied) her prancing around, playing hockey or some other posh sport when I was an adolescent. If only I'd known she was destined to turn into a complete fox in her later years, nothing would have happened anyway. Obviously.
