I wonder if it likely that the chemical attacks have been staged from the rebel side to provoke a reaction from the west. It was reported today that the UN inspectors had come under sniper fire. You would never know if it was the rebels or the government forces.

Drugs kill, kill tens of thousands of innocents in the cross fire each year in places like Mexico. People who can't go to school or are too afraid to go out of their house because their towns and villages have been designated war zones because of the "war on drugs". Point is the prohibition of anything has repercussions further and wider than the relative few who deal in or partake in such activities.

I've backed a few things on kickstarter but stayed away from the likes of film/theatre/gaming they don't interest me in this instance and like you've said lots seem like some over indulgent vanity project for some prius driving Hollywood wankers. The bakery opposite the kop was on it wasn't it? Though funding was over when I first saw that... There have been some genuinely good things on there, thinking things in the vain of wind up radios for the developing world etc...

I'm not as fit or healthy as I should be, and probably the best part of a stone over weight. My advice for anyone, particularly people finding it hard to find the time to exercise is if you can afford it spread yourself far and wide. I've got a road bike for the summer days a MTB for when the conditions aren't as good, a gym membership when I get an hour free before or after work. And my rower in the garage and my running shoes if I get a half hour free before i get a shower... By having a bit of variety I find it easier to at least get some exercise in!

Boss film, De Niro's relationship with his kid is great. How he tries but ultimately fails to guide him in the 'right' direction.

The key to our medium / long term success is not Luis Suarez, Pepe Reina or any other player for that matter. It isn't Arsenal, Tottenham or other sides. We don't need to look at others with envious eyes. We need to look at our own club and what we can address. We are already heading the right direction with regards to things on the pitch, with recruiting young hungry players who are not yet at their peak. And shipping out players who are top heavy on the wage bill. It's our ability and foresight to plan for & build a new stadium or significantly expand our current home. It will show others one of two things, our intent to re ascend as a top tier club. And our ability to show that doing something, even if it's not necessary popular or correct is better than doing nothing at all. We seem to have done a pretty shit job of it as far as I can see for the past 20 years and its about time we as club pulled our finger out and looked beyond the melodrama of the mercenary's on the pay roll and left a legacy worthy of our great club. -
Thought I was all sophisticated 2nd guessing the weather with my met office app. Went out at mid day got just over a mile into it and the heavens opened and got piss wet through. Got to Parbold and back but missed the hill out so pretty flat and a decent ride when the sun finally appeared!

Kuyt is a player you'll only ever appreciate when he's gone, yeh his touch was woeful at times and he was slow as fuck but his constant pressure and work ethic was key to that great team we had back in 2008. With the likes of him and Macherano buzzing round the pitch it enabled the likes of Torres, Gerrard & Benayoun to really hurt teams. A lot of people forget that, when supposed great sides like Brazil fall down and implode in major tournaments its often because their side has too many Neymars and too few Kuyts.
