PODCAST: Liverpool 2 Newcastle 1 - Match Reaction

Oh that one was sweet. After being left frustrated by the relentless time wasting and playacting from the opposition, Kloppo's Reds came from behind to win the points with the last kick of the game, which came well over the initially allotted time due to be added on. Karma's a bitch, eh Eddie?

Chris Smith is joined by John Gallagher and TLW Editor Dave Usher who both hotfooted it back from Anfield to have their say on.... hold on, we need to pause as Joelinton's down again...... a dramatic night at Anfield in which the two gems dazzled once again. Harvey and Fab, what a pair.

Pope was down "injured" for 90 seconds in added time. We won the corner 90 seconds into added time and scored 34 seconds later so it was 7 minutes and 4 seconds into added time when we scored (the 98th minue is a bit misleading).

So even aside from Joelinton etc. wasting time, Marriner would have been stretching it, if he had not allowed the corner to be taken.

Fucking timewasting, journalist killers supporting cunts.

Just listening but it was one of them games that after 10/15 minutes your head is in your hands almost because (going back to the late 90's and pretty much up until 2017) you got that feeling especially at home that this is going to be a ball-ache of a game.

I think that winner could be one of our biggest goals in a while. Going over the park on a draw would give them twats even more optimism. I think that knocks the stuffing out of them and gives us the impetus. Get them out the way and on we go with Jota and hopefully Thiago back for Europe. Then the whole landscape changes. Especially if we manage to get a body in the middle over the line.

Wolves at home, should be a doddle, Chelsea away.... hmm then Brighton at home (fuck last season) and as the league takes its natural shape we could easily be second.

I was on the Kop in 96 and 97 against Newcastle for the 4:3's but I guarantee I shouted louder and with more passion jumping round my Living room at the winner tonight. We needed that badly.

That injury time, the frustration ..... I was fuming at Gomez for farting around at the back when we needed to get it up then it gets passed back to Ali who can only go one way.... Looking at Marriner (who I can't stand) expecting the whistle and it was as if he'd decided we were allowed one more attack regardless. I even expected him to blow when we got the corner. Hopefully that sends a message to all the other time-wasting shithouses.

Fucking PUTA's

Really enjoyed that, quite a few laugh out loud moments - especially Dave’s rant at Newcastle at the end of the game!

Thanks for getting the pod out so quick.

Newcastle were a disgrace. Dont care if the ref favoured us, got the timing wrong or whatever. Newcastle got what they deserved.

Does anyone think if that's united playing Newcastle there's a minimum 9 minutes on the board by the 4th official?

I also thought that when Bobby equalised, we were in a good patch but then Newcastle players started going down in 2s and 3s, disrupting our play and we went off the boil again.

Great pod again.

Enjoyed that fellas, thanks.

I see yous have not settled on how to pronounce Carvalho yet?  You need to come to a consensus like you did over "Yota".

Dan was the only one who ever said "Yota". If any of us did it, it was purely to mock Dan.

I am unsure on Carvalho though. I want to say "Car-val-eeyo" but nobody else seems to so I'm shying away from it. I might just go for it from now on as I don't really like saying "Car-vallo". I'm just being a sheep.

Haha go for it Dave.

I reckon it was said at least four different ways, at one point it was "Car-varlo". I think that must have been Chris with his posh voice.

Nice to get a bit of oompf back in your voices after the dejection at Old Trafford.

Still enjoying these very much, keep it up!

Really, really hope not to see Milner on the pitch against Everton though, that would play right into their hands. We need to hit them with pace and creativity. Jones in for Henderson, otherwise unchanged for me.

I don't know. I go from feeling the same way you do, to then thinking we need Milner's wise head and steel in there because they're going to try and kick fuck out of us.

It would be a gamble going to Goodison with Curtis and Harvey in the side together, but I do prefer the idea of having Milner coming off the bench for the last half an hour than him starting the game and then needing to be brought off.

Same here. A good mix of footy knowledge, humour and wit. Some of them being old mates helps I think.
