  1. Sorry but it's a totally different situation. The reason twitter has become the main source of information from Gaza is the banning of main stream journalists. Israel has murdered almost 100 on the ground localised journalists with the goal of preventing the information you are complaining about being released. Unless you'd prefer to trust the IDF and the Jerusalem Post twitter been a godsend. Its a fast moving story, as all conflicts are. Information regarding the little girl Hind who died waiting for an ambulance and the recent mass hospital graves to name but two stories have been in the main been uncovered by people on the ground in Gaza sending information out on twitter. Although Musk is now doing his bit for the Israelis by trying a bit of information suppression by certain users/journalists. Here's the veiw of a "msn' journalist speaking on twitter. She often praised the information coming out from on the ground accounts from Gaza. If you need an example of how Israel and its agents try to silence journalists look no further than LBC journo Sangita Myska, she's mainstream journalist. Here's another one, your old mate. He's right and so is Charlie Herbert. Anyway that's me done with this thread, as you were.
  2. Nothing new. Everybody knows that Muslims and Arabs are all terrorists bent on killing every single living organism on this planet and the one next to it. Any news regarding the genocide in Gaza?
  3. Another one to add to the list for the baby killing savages. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2024/apr/26/palestinian-baby-rescued-mother-womb-dies-gaza-hospital
  4. If she was a journalist over there she wouldn't even be let into Gaza and if she did report some uncomfortable truths she'd run the risk of being shot in the head.
  5. Stephen Pollard is very upset with this American journalists article in the Guardian yesterday He refuses to link it. However I will. Here it is. https://amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2024/apr/24/zionism-seder-protest-new-york-gaza-israel?s=09
  6. Of course it is: CNN — A mass grave with nearly 300 bodies has been uncovered at a hospital in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, Gaza Civil Defense workers said Monday, following the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the area earlier this month. Col. Yamen Abu Suleiman, Director of Civil Defense in Khan Younis told CNN Monday that “today, 73 bodies were recovered” in the courtyard at the Nasser Medical Complex which brought the “total number to 283.” Suleiman alleged that some of the bodies had been found with hands and feet tied, “and there were signs of field executions. We do not know if they were buried alive or executed. Most of the bodies are decomposed.” Nah man, it is you. It is your tidal wave of shit - hard to believe you are still at it to be honest.
  7. If the US and Germany/EU don't resume funding UNRWA, how will the Palestinians, in Gaza and elsewhere, survive? At least for the US, I think there is no chance that they resume funding, regardless of what happens going forward. Neither party will touch it. So the Palestinian refugees in Gaza are left to starve in the rubble, and those elsewhere, in Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and the West Bank, also face an uncertain future. I'm sure some in Israel, and elsewhere, will see that as a major victory, but will it lead to more violence or less?
  8. Simor is 100% right. These are the knock on dangers that follow the little orchestrated pantomimes such as the one at the Palestinian march recently. A planned disruption of basic British freedoms which hit all our tv and radio bulletins for days (where we're those concerned with fake news then politicians?). Politicians such as Suella Braverman (its almost unbelievable that she was Home Secretary) jumped on the story with relish. It soon became obvious the policeman was trying to diffuse the situation and keep the peace when put in an awkward predicament by those Zionists, even if his words were a little clumsy. Would a group of peace activists be allowed to disrupt the soldiers marching at the Cenotaph? Of course not. People such Braverman have no concern whatsoever for Britain They are only concerned with their paymasters in Israel. These people breed people such as Fox and Robinson, they grant them legitimacy. The result of which is seen below. They should be called out for what they are. These are the same characters who've been telling us for months the people marching for a ceasefire in Gaza have been disruptive to both police and public!
  9. From an outsider's viewpoint America seems to be in the process of tearing itself apart over Israel. Could become a crisis not seen since Vietnam. The older politicial elite appear and media seem a million miles away from a lot of the younger generations on the issue of Israel and Gaza. I'm wondering how much social media platforms such as tiktok (which I thought was was just kids doing stupid dancing) are having an influence. Maybe the youngsters are getting information and ideas off each other on social media and not the traditional media outlets? I don't know tbh. What's now obvious is you've got young people as diverse as college graduates through to world champion American boxers (Ryan Garcia, 25, has pledged 20 million dollars to Gaza, link below) speaking out. Their appears a growing divide between the generations. Possibly why the American political establishment are eager to ban tiktok? The snapshot below shows how deep the divisions. The forthcoming assault by Israel on Rafah using American money and weapons should calm things down for the summer. Throw in the Trump trial and the beginning of the election campaign and we'll just have to see how it goes.
  10. Why journalists are not allowed into Gaza. Why Israeli apologists do not like others sharing information.
  11. Plenty you said. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-68423995.amp https://pressgazette.co.uk/news/gaza-journalists-foreign-correspondents-israel-egypt-access/ Go on, name a few .
  12. Are there really? Can you name me a few? Because I thought information regarding this war was a little harder than some pretend. Go on but you can wipe these off your list. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle east-68423995.amp https://pressgazette.co.uk/news/gaza-journalists-foreign-correspondents-israel-egypt-access/
  13. 1967: Israel, the War, and the Year that Transformed the Middle East by Tom Segev A detailed examination of the Six Days War, after which Israel annexed East Jerusalem, re-occupied the Gaza strip, and occupied the Golan heights and the West Bank. Deals almost exclusively with Israel, which is a limitation, but still an excellent book. In particular, the discussions of the top leadership before during and after the conflict. A book well worth reading if you want a better understanding of the modern world.
  14. He didn’t decry or belittle. He just said it is not comparable to what the Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank are going through. Do you think it is? And I don’t hate Jews. Some of my biggest role models and heroes are Jews. You know that. You just pretend you don’t because it suits your narrative. Play another game.
  15. I only saw the bottom one about Scotland. I don't mind their leader, he seemed genuine enough on Gaza. I don't know much on the SNP domestic policy's, especially now as Sturgeon has gone.
  16. 190 bodies found in shallow graves in southern gaza,as Israeli forces pull out. Great bunch of lads
  17. Fair enough. I was just trying (and failing) to explain why it's hard to take a line about a bill that's been wrapped up in so many different elements, such as Israel, Taiwan, Tiktok etc without upsetting the echo chamber. Imo America are politically in a hell of a mess but that doesn't mean I'm against support for Ukraine. As for the amount of twitter feeds on Gaza it's probably more than most because mainstream journalists are not allowed in to report, so twitter has become the main source of information. Anyway I intend to leave it there.
  18. So you don't care about those in Gaza being bombed then?
  19. I think I've made my feelings about Israel's current actions in the Gaza strip eminently clear in that thread. Just as you have made eminently clear in this thread your feelings regarding Putin's murder of tens of thousands of innocent Ukrainians.
  20. 18% sympathise with Israel. 13% support the Israelis using more military action in Gaza. Hardly 33% "unconditional" support. https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/48675-british-attitudes-to-the-israel-gaza-conflict-february-2024-update
  21. Nope. It's not a reasonable inference. The facts are the Russian economy has not imploded. The Ukrainian counter offensive was not successful. The war in Gaza has changed focus and perceptions (especially on the difference in American reaction and hypocrisy). The amount of Ukrainians dodging service is high (a bbc report puts it at 650,000: link futher up if you can wade through the fog of bullshit). War weariness is beginning to set in. The Russians are not as isolated as they were in the months after the invasion. Zelensky has sacked his genera. Western countries have elections this year which will take precedence over Ukraine. Last but not least, most conflicts end in negotiations. It does not in anyway mean "Giving Putin what he wants". This is the link I originally posted a bit further up before getting thrown off subject. In the link it's describing the previous negotiations. Its imo an excellent article and summary. You make of it what you will. I'm going to leave this here, no point getting into anymore juvenile tit for tats. Article here, if you don't want to read Ragozins summary above. https://www.foreignaffairs.com/ukraine/talks-could-have-ended-war-ukraine?s=09
  22. These guys who are bombing Syria, Gaza, the Lebanon and now Iran just want peace!
  23. Therein lies the problem; Extremists on both sides will ensure this continues and killing each other just fuels the support. One side wants to remove Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and West Bank and Jerusalem. The other side wants to remove Israeli's from the map. I'm pessimistic - I don't see there ever being a compromise that satisfies both camps, not even a two-state solution. Ultimately I fear one side will use nukes to remove the other.
  24. No hypocrisy there, she's pointing out that real people live in Jerusalem, Israel has stated and shown many times that the "people" in Gaza aren't really people, they're human animals, terrorists, vermin, whatever suits your mood.
  25. Hezbollah said it has fired “dozens of rockets” at Israeli artillery positions in response to the Israeli military’s strikes in southern Lebanon, in one of its largest assaults since the start of the war on Gaza. The Iran-aligned armed Lebanese group confirmed in a statement late on Friday that it launched dozens of Katyusha rockets at “enemy artillery positions” in northern Israel and the occupied Golan Heights. “This is a large number of rockets and drones, one of the biggest barrages of the war so far in Gaza,” said Al Jazeera’s Rory Challands, reporting from occupied East Jerusalem.
