I have to admit that I feel sorry for him. I was surprised when we signed him but he looked very good with some of his early performances and came across really well in after match interviews. I started to warm to him. Then came the injury, a serious one that caused him to be out for a long time and he's never been the same player since apart from the odd glimpse maybe. Whenever he gets on the pitch now he stands out, but not in the way that's required. Nothing seems to be working for him and his head's dropped as a result. He must know that he's not going to break into that first 11 and be a regular on the team sheet. Like I say, I feel sorry for him, but it's time for him to move on. You watch him come on as a sub in Paris and score the winner.

I had to cancel an appointment at the dentist this week after waiting ages to get one. When I was eating my tea earlier I'm chewing away then crunch, crunch, crunch. The crown in my front tooth's come out, so I'm going to be sat here with teeth that look like a row of bombed houses until the dentist will see me after having Covid. What a fucking week.

Not as serious as yours, but static electricity shocks are a bloody nuisance. A bit of warm weather, go out in the car, get out, go to shut the door and zap. I used to work in a printed circuit board place years ago and one of the jobs I did was to cut the raw board to size on a guillotine. They were roughly 2 metres square and came in boxes of 25. Because one side was copper, the static charge was horrendous so you learned a technique where you caught a corner with your thumb and sort of whipped it up. There was always a crack where the charge went into the next board and so on. The problem with this method though was the static was building all the time and you knew that sooner or later it was going to get you. And when it did you fucking knew about it. Horrible job that was.

Something similar happened here a few weeks ago. The Old Toby Inn in Skem was a listed building and over 300 years old. It had been empty for a while and developers had put in plans to turn the building and the large plot of land it was on into some sort of care home complex. I don't know what exactly what happened but I believe the plans fell through so the inevitable happened and it went up in flames. It was a massive fire which caused the roof to cave in and some parts of the first floor walls to collapse. An investigation is still taking place as far as I'm aware and the Council were looking to have the building restored due to it's historic status. The weekend before last, the owners/developers moved the bulldozers in and completely demolished it without permission and completely disregarding it's listed status. There's uproar going on, the local MP calling for them to face the full force of the law and the Council up in arms as well as the locals. Apparently the developers out in a notice of demolition on the Thursday and demolished the building 36 hours later. The Council hadn't even seen the notice. I hadn't been in there for years, but I'm more than a bit gutted about it to be honest. It was my first local. I was still 14 when I first started going in there, had some brilliant times and drank with fellas who I still talk to today, though most of them have gone now sadly, in fact one fellas ashes were scattered on the grass in front of the main entrance. Fucking developer cunts. Someone should do time for it.
