  1. Reread 'God is a Bullet' which is still brilliant. Read 'The Circle which is laboured and shite.'
  2. How did that cunt ever interfere with anybody? He must have needed a floor mirror to even see his knob.
  3. It seems Everton are considering an appeal against the Limassol result on the grounds that the gas fitter who scored against them was not Corgi registered.
  4. A few dozen people? Do you ever leave the house? The city centre is beginning to resemble the holding centre's in France. Invalidate the welfare state? Well obviously not as it's still there, even if its in a reduced state. Are you/were you proud of the welfare state? I was, but anyone with a grain of sense/humanity knows it's being dismantled by the current government under the guise of 'austerity.' Have you not read about the tens of thousands of people who've been left penniless for six weeks because the government wants to introduce Universal Credit in order to save money they can then spend on tax credits for the rich? Could you SD survive for that long without money? So no it doesn't 'invalidate' the welfare state but it fucking well shames it!
  5. Can't find any video of it on either of those mate?
  6. I've just been searching for that old BBC programme about Lol Cottrall playing for Liverpool on the Esther Ransom show but couldn't find anything. It was filmed around our streets on Kenny and he played in Tommy Smith's testimonial. Anybody find anything on it?
  7. Well that's worked well. Have you been to town lately?
  8. And the Richie Havens award for cover versions goes to...
  9. I went with Sgt Pepper but was wavering until the end. Had the original title for that album (Liverpool) remained and they hadn't pulled Strawberry Fields/Penny Lane for a single it would be without a doubt the best album of all time. The Beatles were pretty unique at that time (and it's probably the same now) but they kept their singles off most of their albums. Which two songs from Pepper would you ditch for those two? Sorry, this should be another thread.
  10. That's close to what I would have picked. (today)
  11. I'm puissed and could'nt find the proper one for thisa
  12. I can understand him wanting to fight but just do what everybody else does and fight people at your own level in the gymn. It's all about money!
  13. It's strange there wasn't the same reaction to a song about an Asian gentleman (see above), the morality in regard to racism seems pretty vague. We (Scousers) apparently eat dead rats, dine out from dust bins, are pick-pockets (even of the dead) live in slums, are all unemployed, are self pitying murderous bastards but that's okay as we are the same colour so it's not racist. You can't draw boundaries between regions for goodness sake. Yet you can between countries. Try telling an Irish joke nowadays. The difference in the reaction of the press to the Manchester bombing and Hilsbrough is striking. One city was all of the above yet the other was the greatest city in the world for its normal reaction to a tragic incident.
  14. A gammon joint cooked in coke (the liquid kind) is beautiful.
  15. The manageress in there (the flatty, though getting on) is still fit as a butchers but you should have seen her years ago. I once saw her mop the floor and do a little dance which kept a whole pub full of fella's silent and open mouthed.
  16. Was that last picture taken in Tuebrook? Outside the market of a Thursday? If so I think I may have seen her through the window of the Park Hotel.
  17. The call of the wild/White Fang. Loved them as a kid and much of London's work is still worth a read today.
  18. I think this may be their biggest mistake. A 1% pensionable rise whilst inflation is running at 2.9% is hardly going to make them rush to man the barricades is it? Thatcher knew the score and always looked after the boys in blue in order to break any resistance to her persecution of the working class, these cunts just take it for granted. What will it take to finally get the people on the streets as in the old days. (Enough even for the BBC to be forced to acknowledge it!) They have wanted an excuse to punish the poorest for donkeys years and the banking collapse allowed them to punish the innocent and continue the growth of the wealthy. I think even the thickest amongst us are getting wise to that shite now though. The Tories just don't believe there is any opposition to worry them any more. Let's prove them wrong!
  19. A thing with the Beatles is that the people who are disparaging of them will normally say such and such a band are better but the members of that band will say they were the greatest band ever!
  20. I'm never sure if SD is a piss take persona as he's obviously quite bright but comes out with some awful drivel. On this however I'm with him. I've been advocating this for years but not just for the (perceived) rich. I've said on here before that I would put inheritance tax up to about 75% and use the money to give every child in the country a decent life enabling sum on their 21st birthday and give 'everybody' an opportunity in life. Why should I work my bollocks off to pay for the kids of lazy drunken drug addicts I hear the cry and the answer is because the child is not responsible for the parent's actions. If we really believe in an equal society then we need to give 'everybody' a chance. The establishment rich became so by killing other people and stealing their land but would scream bloody murder if ever asked to share a bit of their undeserved wealth. I appreciate the many flaws in my argument, firstly the fact that the rich would manage to avoid these taxes due to employing cunts, sorry, accountants but surely there is a way to make it work.
