1. I can sympathise with him, but you can understand it if people were uncomfortable with his presence at Melwood after he had quit. There was a new boss and players need 'closure' in these things. Imagine Benitez turning up for a jog and a chat every so often at Melwood. Imagine Benitez jogging. Just waiting to be invited to away games seems a bit unreasonable too, they surely would have sorted him out if he had asked, which I think is fair. And staying in a different hotel in Bruge...well he wasn't part of the squad, players and staff need to know that boundary. Paisley might have been giving them slightly different tactics than Shanks would and it could have caused embarrassment or conflict. So sorry, My Shankly but it seems you were the victim of your own success and your legendary status probably meant having you around was all a bit too much.
2. never heard this one about pako talking to mourinho before, but then i probably wouldn't have heard about the iluminati blowing up the twin towers either as i didn't come online much in those days. pretty sure it was down to our constant poor start but strong finish to the season. rafa tried to alter it so we started better, but trained less intensely , and paco didn;t agree and they fell out.
3. the lyrics sound awful for this new one and the song isn't up to much, with all this 'yeah yeah yeah' bollocks and forgettable riffs. to be fair to them they wouldn;t have been able to do anything right after all the ridiculous hype they had, and so much like radiohead, just did what they thought turned em on musically. thing is I find it hard to still be interested in them, think thats the same for alot of people. when you get so much praise and attention you become of that moment, always associated with 2006 or whenever it was.
4. I think Reina was tempted by Arsenal and might still be. With Arsenal's annual dick shriveling occurring on such an undignified scale yet again I would have thought he would think twice about wanting to be a part of that. It probably seemed different when they still had it all to play for and had matches against Barcelona to look forward to. Combined with the turn around at Anfield there is a good chance he will want to stay now I would hope. I suppose the big question now is would he be prepared to join the Mancs and would we sell to them? I would imagine they want him but we could refuse to sell if he pushed for it.
5. I think we are all on the same page, TLW, RAWK, kids from Kuala Lumpur on the offal forums, Jimmy Tarbuck, that fat scum hat wearing woolyback, all hand in hand and skipping into the sunset, gently singing 'We want Ken, We want Ken'. A terrible thought, really, all being together on something when we could just waste all our energy on falling out over previous managers net spend and things.
6. I say, that teenager coming back from an injury, coming on as sub and paying out of position in a unfamiliar makeshift team against title contenders didn't look too inspiring immediately. This worries me. We should buy ready made internationals because they never fail. Unfortunately nobody cares what I think because I am a fucking whopper posting on an internet forum on a Monday morning, so perhaps I should spend more time getting behind the positive aspects of trying youngsters out and gaining them invaluable experience until they find their feet. If Joe Cole had started I would have started a thread saying 'why not give the youngsters a chance, they will at least be hungry and give 100% and gain experience.' I am a modern day wank merchant. Fuck off.
7. Has Fernando Torres Scored For Chelsea? keep abreast of developments by the second

10. Ex-Liverpool FC star Rob Jones excited by young right-back John Flanagan JOHN FLANAGAN can go on to have a big future at Liverpool, according to former Reds full-back Rob Jones. The 18-year-old right-back enjoyed a highly-accomplished first-team debut in Monday night’s 3-0 win over Manchester City at Anfield, impressing many with his composure, solidity and confidence. And Jones, who made 243 appearances during eight years at Anfield, says the youngster can be very proud of his first senior outing in a red shirt. “Flanagan did superbly,” said Jones. “As a Liverpool fan, you’re watching the game and hoping the young lad doesn’t make a mistake, but he never looked like that was going to happen, he was great. “He looked very comfortable on the ball, always looked to pass it, and did all his defensive duties really well. He certainly never looked overawed by the occasion, and he can be very pleased with his performance.” Flanagan was only drafted into Kenny Dalglish’s plans following an injury crisis, which has deprived the Reds of Glen Johnson, Martin Kelly, Daniel Agger and Sotirios Kyrgiakos from their regular pool of defenders, but Jones believes his emergence, along with that of fellow academy graduates Kelly and Jay Spearing, who also impressed against Roberto Mancini’s side, bodes well for the club’s long-term future. “I’ve been watching Martin Kelly for the past six months, and he has been great,” said Jones, “Now Flanagan has emerged, it looks even better for the club. “You usually get maybe one player every two years or so come through, but these two have come through around the same time, and they look really comfortable. “And of course, these young players - Jay Spearing as well - are lucky enough to have someone like Kenny Dalglish to guide them through. That must give a young player so much confidence, to have Kenny behind them. “I used to have it with Graeme Souness, I’d always think that if he rated me enough to put me in the team then I must be doing something right, and it is the same with Kenny. “You only need to look at the way the senior players have responded since he has come back, he has given the players confidence, and there is a buzz around the club again.” Jones himself was thrust into the most daunting of Reds debuts, as he was commandeered from Crewe Alexandra in October 1991, and found himself marking a young Ryan Giggs at Old Trafford just days later. And the former England full-back says having experienced players around him provided vital support during those early days, and believes the likes of Jamie Carragher and Pepe Reina can offer similar assistance to Flanagan. “Having senior players alongside you is priceless when you are making your first appearances,” said Jones, “I had Jan Molby, Ian Rush, Bruce Grobbelaar alongside me on my debut, and it helped me so much. You can’t beat experience. “I noticed as the players left the field last night that Pepe Reina went over and gave Flanagan a pat on the head to say ‘well done’, and I’m sure all the senior players will have been full of praise for him in the dressing room afterwards. “John will know himself that he has had a good, solid game, but still to have the likes of Kenny, Pepe or Jamie Carragher come over and say ‘well played’ will mean an awful lot, and give him a lot of confidence. Jones enjoyed a meteoric rise at Anfield, making his England debut just four months into his Reds career, but he is keen to stress the need for Flanagan and his fellow young talents to keep their feet firmly on the ground. “He’s had a nice, steady debut, and looked very confident,” added Jones, “But that is the easy part. The hard part now is to keep it going, keep working hard and try to keep his place in the team. “He has to get his head down, work hard, and listen to those around him - Carra, Kenny Dalglish and so on. If he can do that, he can have a very good career for Liverpool.” Ex-Liverpool FC star Rob Jones excited by young right-back John Flanagan - News - Liverpool FC - Liverpool Echo

Soon they'll be putting the figures on a t shirt with local ip addresses underneath. and it's also not fair subjecting us to that video with hollyoakes style token scouser accents. and that taxi driver..i can fucking smell him.

14. gerrard is always better on the right anyway, or as a back up striker if carroll or suarez are out injured/ out injuring people.
15. i met him once back in the summer of 96, in shorrocks hill, formby. it was the only place a 16 year old like me could get in and drink. he turned up and was chatting to a couple of nice looking birds and smoking a cigar. apparently although it was full of kids, players used to like it as they never got hassled too much, aggro wise, so could have a quite-ish drink on a friday. altough now i am older it might have been the jail bate. any ways he was smoking which is pretty poor. i told him he should have played in the cup final cos phil babb is fucking shit, and he laughed and said 'well maybe next year.' just thought i would share that with you. ps the pound story is a fucking disgrace.
16. massively impressed with that performance, reminded me of Rob Jones in the way nothing fazed him in the slightest. He and Spearing linked up well a few times and it was one of the best performances from Jay so far. Kennys comments pre game probably inspired that. But Flannagan has great composure and his distribution was pretty good at times too.
17. i got 'he's big and he's fucking hard' on my scrotum. only ran out of room after 'he's bi' gutted.
18. He's at home at the moment, just had a shit I think. Right, now he is reading the paper and scratching his goatee. Might talk to his wife in a bit, I'll keep you posted.
19. I do wonder if Kenny is the man for us these days, after every defeat and especially the European performances. Would there be an outcry of he wasn't given the job now? I would assume so given the lack of any discussion these days on a new coach. After any victory I want him to stay forever, and they all seem so much sweeter now he is there, like a win when Fowler had scored used to. I seem to be becoming a modern day fickle fan which I never have before. Is it just me or is this what being a fan is now in the modern day?
20. stewart lee is quite good. too many shit ones to mention, eddie izzard is mint. frankie boyles biggest sin is being shit, we can handle offensive if it is funny, ie rooted in truth rather than cruel prejudice.
21. it means the goal line is restricted, but you will still have a good view for the pitch, just have to slightly crane your head a bit when the ball goes near the goal line. which shouldn't be too much. it's hardly restricted at all really. in's in etc
