  1. Fate will have it I am in Sheffield on Monday. I would have otherwise attended the memorial at Anfield but was wondering if there is anything going on at Hillsborough itself? Does anyone live in Sheffield who might know? I had a look at swfc.com and a local paper website but saw nothing amongst the headlines of pie contests being won and eccles cakes being stolen. Having relatives in Sheffield I have spent alot of time drinking around there in the last 15 years. Speaking to the working class locals it would seem they support us in the vast majority, and believe the police were at fault and should be punished. Some Liverpool fans don't think this is the case,(that locals in Sheff support lfc fans_) but the odd BNP type loudmouth is not typical of the general consensus there. Many have told me other tales of SYPolice from that era, and they were not trusted in the city. Bit better now I think. I once wrote to Dave Richards when he was chairman of SheffWed in the mid 90's asking for a memorial to be put up at Hillsborough but received no response. This great man acknowledged nothing and was promoted by the FA to FA chairman a few years later. We know where they stand. If I remember rightly a garden was commissioned nearby as a memorial, funded by SWFC, but I am not sure. Why not have something at the ground? Are they basically pissed off there ground is associated with a disaster in which the upkeep of the ground played a part? There will of course be nothing stopping me laying flowers at the stadium myself, but if there is anything official I would be grateful of the info. Cheers.
  2. So they are holding a minutes silence for Thatcher before a Liverpool match, in the Hillsborough anniversary week? Is this some kind of joke? Will they hold one for Adolf Hitler at White Heart Lane too maybe? For he 'may have been a divisive figure but we must respect leaders etc'? Fanchester, may I recommend you don't ever ask Liverpool fans to put the cover up 'to one side?' Regards.
  3. yeah but most of his signings were shit and the football he played was defensive and shit.
  4. Accommodation available in Walton area of Liverpool, for the weekends of 21st April, Chelsea match, and weekend of May 4th (Everton game) Just rented this out for the National and the lads were really happy. Less than a 10 minute drive to the Stadium, good public transport access. 3 bedroom house, fully furnished. Pm me for any further details.
  5. outside the kfc on county road wasn't it, this never before seen footage emerged the following day
  6. This is the result of United fans singing songs about wishing more people had died at Hillsborough for 90 minutes. Apparently in the press box they couldn't hear a thing.
  7. Maybe he just likes the nice bits like the hair and clothes and everything being put away properly in their places but nobody has asked him this so we don't know. I'm not really sure what fascism is but I know it's a bit like racism or something and that's bad so I'm against it because racism is bad and think he should be sacked unless he gets a photo done with a black kid and says sorry.
  8. I think most fans had developed a dislike of him already due to the way he left and his England obsession, that is clear from the boos he got when playing for Newcastle at Anfield. In contrast, even Bolo Zenden got applauded when he returned. ps, you posted this during the match?
  9. In 15 years it is estimated that Mark 'Sparky' Hughes will have managed an impressive 87 English football league clubs, having been sacked from 86 of them. Not to be dissuaded, Premier League chairmen remain eager to snap up the services of the fiery Welshman, due to incredibly positive media profiling off the back of a 6 month spell at Blackburn Rovers 10 years ago when Hughes sensationally made Rovers 'a difficult team to beat.'
  10. the last time they did the double over us was when Deano scored infront of the kop, he made his debut for them against us earlier in the season at Villa Park, a match famed for Ronnie Rosenthal missing an open goal, Jim Rosenthal would have done better and he's half goblin. I would love to see that Saunders goal again, as I remember I could spot myself behind the goal giving a two finger obscene gesture as he wheeled away in celebration.
  11. Why not get that gambling buzz by posting a £20 note to yourself and waiting to see if it arrives?
  12. The players have a lot to play for, aside from the fact they are paid extortionate sums to grace us with their godliness, we need to finish above Everton, and could quite conceivably finish above Arsenal. As for Lambert, he is a likable guy who inherited a mess but he has not done a good job at all, not by a long shot.
  13. That ferguson one is amazing, I actually prefer the balloon one. Great work. Reminds me of that footage of Hitler the allies used in the war. No offence to Hitler.
  14. Ar, Them Rooney ones are making me physically sick
  15. that code cunt is totally wrong. 8 is not more than 9 or 11 is it? and no the season hasn't finished but that works both ways, we could still score plenty more in the last 15 minutes in our remaining fixtures. juking the stats again skiddytits.
  16. in reply to the Op and the ref celebrating at the end of the match, I have seen this before on fantasy football or something years ago. The ref was interviewed and said he was so proud having got through his first FA Cup final he celebrated at the end. Or something. Hmm sounded more believable when he said it.
  17. John Burridge was in his 40's wasn't he, and still playing in the prem. Poor lad was sectioned after he retired due to missing the game so much, he got suicidal. EDIT -just found this John Burridge interview | Mail Online
