  1. Sahin was a CM who was played more as a 10 by Rodgers. It didn't work. We're now playing Wijnaldum, who's more of a box-to-box player or AM, as a deep lying midfielder. It's not working. The theme of Liverpool in recent memory has been signing midfielders and trying to turn them into something they're not. We take too long to cut our losses on players and sign specialists in an area. None of that explains why our defenders continue to look like they've never been coached though.
  2. I've got a horrible Stoke 6-1 feeling about this. The balance in that midfield without Coutinho is shocking. Firmino and Mane trying to come deep and failing to link up with anyone because we haven't a single midfielder who'll punish the opposition for getting too tight. Watching Wijnaldum's position when West Brom are in a dangerous area is particularly depressing. He's at best a box-to-box player shoehorned into his current role, if not an AM, and he displays all the ballwatching tendencies of someone schooled in that position. Can is trying his best, but he lumbers around and no one notices the danger of what might happen should he fail to make a tackle. Mig got lucky with the VAR and Van Dijk is alone in defence.
  3. It's definitely worth picking up a Wii anyway, they're dirt cheap and have some really underrated gems.
  4. I hate us playing later than others, always messes with the sense of schadenfreude. It gets harder to laugh at someone falling over when you know your own path may be strewn with open manholes.
  5. I preferred Resi 4 on the Wii, the pointer controls for targeting made it a lot easier.
  6. Yes. I'm expecting a little slump at some point, and I'm hoping some of our recent performances - bar City - is it, so once we get back into our groove we'll ride to top four with our dicks swinging in the wind. Transit lesbian will help shore up the defence and we'll look more like a regular 2-0 or 2-1 side for the rest of the season, except in big games where we'll revert to free scoring shit the bed schizophrenia.
  7. I agree with a lot, but lay off the San Andreas Assfucks, they were unlucky to lose the Megabowl to the Minneapolis Cornholes.
  8. £90m? Sounds like a SteveO valuation there.
  9. I've never been stung by a bee or a wasp. Deep down, I reckon I might be like Bruce Willis in Unbreakable.
  10. I like it. Smoke hands Gomez Solidity Concentration Robertson Game management Energy Creativity Mobility Incision Ruthlessness Look to the bench to bring Shit The Bed and Nervy Finish on after seventy odd minutes and we'll see the game out.
  11. Supposedly one coat paint, that you soon realise will need a second coat.
  12. Good old FA, just when you think they can't sink any lower, they prove you wrong. No experience in the women's game and no successful period as a manager at any level. Still, I hear his mother's a woman, so that helps.
  13. James Pearce suffers from a rare form of erectile dysfunction, where he can only get aroused by dashing transfer rumours. With each collective sigh, he grows harder.
  14. On the subject of female vocalists, I've just been listening to Big Mama Thornton's (original) version of Hound Dog.
  15. I can still remember me and my mates finding our first porn mag in the woods, after someone said they knew where some lads had left it. It was a proper trek, like a grumble version of Stand By Me. Ah, the innocence of simpler times.
  16. One way or another, I think today's performance will tell us a lot about whether we need to strengthen this month. The game against City was always going to be hectic and open, so Coutinho was less missed, but against the lower fodder of the league we need to see some creativity to break them down. I still reckon we're trying for Lemar in the background.
  17. I stopped reading after you put an apostrophe in "it's".
  18. There was a moment in a match earlier in the tournament when he missed the opportunity to yell his catchphrase. The white went in and he just meekly said "Where's the cue ball... gone?" in a really disappointed voice.
  19. "Right Geoff, I'm going to go survey the opinion of the locals and get to know their dialect. Which way is the red light district?"
  20. Klopp gambled prior to last season, when we didn't strengthen enough in the summer, and we still squeaked a top four place. I've the same misgivings as I had then, but considering we've finally got a top drawer CB, Ox is coming into form and Salah's on fire, I reckon we're in a better position, so I'm happy enough to roll with the squad as it is. It's not ideal, and I still don't think we'll ever fully see the reasoning behind Coutinho being sold now, but there's a plan at work, even if it is based largely on Klopp's abilities to adapt with what he has. For all the talk of the owners, it's clearly his plan. I get the fears, obviously there's a chance we could go on a slump due to lacking a creative spark from midfield, but long term, if it puts us in a better position to sign Coutinho's replacement and a quality keeper, then it's worth it in my view. Having said all that, I still reckon we could either bring someone in or strike a key deal for the summer in this window.
