  1. The cheeky gits. I'm sure if he's playing as well as everyone is saying then there'll be other, bigger, bids in for him.
  2. Going on Torres' breathtaking performances of the last 12 months we weren't going to get into the top 4 anyway. If we manage to get a decent replacement in tonight then that could prove our only, albeit outside, chance of achieving that goal. Someone fresh with a bit of hunger "could" make all the difference. Torres wasn't going to get us there this season the way he's been playing imo.
  3. Sorry but I still can't forgive Owen and McMannaman for the way they both dwindled their contracts down.
  4. I visit both forums and the thing that pisses me off the most about RAWK is the constant obsession of the mods with locking threads. They do it WAY too much. Yesterday for example they had the usual discussion of the Torres transfer request after the news broke then come the night time they'd locked all threads re. the topic with a statement along the lines of "Torres has put in a transfer request - club have rejected it - that's that - thread to be reopened in the morning". I just don't see the point, the biggest news story of the day (barring Suarez) and you couldn't discuss it! Might aswell turn the site into a news board rather than a discussion forum if their going to have that kind of attitude. It can be really irritating sometimes when you've spent 30+ minutes typing a well thought out reply to a topic only the find that the thread has suddenly disappeared after hitting the submit button!
  5. I preferred the old ground with in-built supermarket. ;)
  6. It gives me that warm ecstatic Ready Brek glow each and every time I've read stuff like that over the last 6 days. In fact I've taken the day off work tomorrow just to celebrate the one week anniversary! ;):P:biggrin:
  7. Exactly. From his point of view why should he resign? If he hands in his resignation out of his own good will then he gets no pay off whatsoever. If he waits until they sack him, or until they call him into the office and negotiate a mutual departure, then he gets a big fat golden handshake to say good bye. If it was me and I had no affinity for the team I was managing and the supporters wanted me out I'd haggle for the wedge before I went. And I think most others would too.

  9. We need to start a Hicks out of Weetabix campaign. I'll see if I can find a few email addresses to bombared and dig out my terrorist mask again!
  10. Just to lighten the mood after yesterday's dismal display. I posted this song I'd made on RAWK on Saturday. Same tune as Fernando Torres - Liverpool's number 9 He thought he'd make an easy buck - Tom Hicks Tom Hicks They'll be no debt upon the club - Tom Hicks Tom Hicks He thought he could control the noise Those militant internet terrorist boys Big fat Tom got swindled out of town.
  11. Do we Internet Terrorists realise that we're the reason for the club not being bought by Man City type owners? Oh yes we scared them off with our distressed chatter. It's true you know. Uncle Tom says so and he never lies. Apparently they were the kind of buyer he was trying to find for Liverpool.
  12. Surely this judge has got to be some kind of pal of Hicks' right? Are we at deadlock for tonight then? Does anyone think there'll be any further developments this evening or am I safe to go to bed? (and curse!)
  13. My dad met him once in the 80's and said he was right up his own arse! So no.
  14. If only..... I wish there was someone out there willing to do the honourable deed.
  15. I was surprised recently when I read he was 29. I hadn't heard of him until we bought him as I don't follow foreign football much but I just assumed he was early 20's at least!
  16. Slightly off topic but didn't we have a gentlemens' agreement with Real that we'd rest Owen for our CL qualifier on the Tuesday night and in turn they'd rest Morrientes in their qualifier the following night as that was supposed to be the original player swap. We did our bit but then they went and played Morrientes, cup tying him, then we ended up with the even less effective Nunez. I hate that club with a passion.
  17. Couldn't care less that he joined United it was the way he left us that I'm angry about. Newcastle had been relegated, Rafa didn't want him back, and United were the only other big club intested in him. He's not a Liverpool fan so career wise that was the best alternative move for him at the time. What I'm bitter about is the way he strung us along and dwindled his contract down so we only got a fraction of the transfer fee we should have. He said at Xmas 2003 that if we didn't qualify for the CL at the end of that season that he'd be on his way. The flip side of that statement would suggest that if we did qualify for the CL then he'd stay. Low and behold we qualified and he still fooked off!
  18. I can see the benefits of sharing ideas etc and agree that some things are even more more important than local rivalry but lets say we did join up with them and thanks to our extra help Glazer sold up to a "Red Knights" consortium or whoever and our Yanks were still hanging on. Do you really think the United fans would carry on helping us? Chances are they'd probably pull the plug on us after getting what they want leaving us in the lurch!
  19. Well I would have said cheese and onion but that would have sounded too gay!
  20. The bloke's making me hungry. I can't help thinking of Golden Wonder crisps every time I hear his name! I want a bite of his salt and vinegar!
  21. I've always wondered whether Sami leaving a year a two early was something to do with a private agreement reached between him Rafa and Agger at the time so Agger could get more games. There was a lot of talk of Agger going at the time and following Sami's departure Agger stayed. I could be wrong but it's just a hunch.
  22. Dirk's biggest failure is not his own lack of skill but the lack of skill of the players around him. Every team needs it's battling workhorse type players and in that department Dirk is the class leader and would fit like a glove if we had the likes of Schneider around him without being questioned like he constantly is.
  23. In an ideal world Raul Moat would support Liverpool and Hicks would've shagged his bird!
  24. Couldn't really care less about which player plays for which side I just want the Dutch to win because I like they're laid back liberal attitude to life. Anyone got a light? Saying that it would be boss if the Dirkster got the winner!
  25. My mate's just seen Zidane in a car outside Melwood...............oops sorry wrong decade! ;)
