  1. Not quite FSG related but I could've sworn in the early 90's there were plans to buuld a two tier Kop rather than the single tier one we have today. Does anybody remember that and what happened to those plans?
  2. I noticed the pitch markings were looking whiter than white on Saturday. I could see the line on the edge of the Anny Road penalty area from 107 of the Kop for a change. Previously, due to the low angle of my seat, I could only see the side marking of the penalty area down the other end of the field before. Not exactly a game changer but will be useful for seeing whether a foul or handball is in or outside the box in future games.
  3. This season there'll be: Live Champions League game each matchweek in HD (ZDF/HD) Live Europa League game each matchweek (Sport1) All BBC and BT Sport live FA Cup games (Eurosport DE) Every F1 race live in HD (RTL/HD) These are all shown on German satellite channels with German commentary. But everything listed is FREE (including Eurosport which charges for their English version) and can be picked up loud and clear across the UK & ROI through your existing Sky or Feeesat receiver. Unlike streams they remain stable and don't crash as often! It's possible to install a second, offset, LNB to your existing minidish with some self amalgamating tape and cable ties (obviously making sure it's safe and secure) for little more than a tenner off eBay to add these free-to-air German channels to your existing system. Whilst retaining the main focus of your dish on Sky / UK. Or if you no longer use your dish anymore then simply move it to Astra 19.2e. http://www.satcure.co.uk/tech/dish_xtra_LNB.htm
  4. A bit late in the day but Virgin broandband is the only ISP you don't need a landline with. Their broadband signal comes down the TV wire (don't need TV either). Although they'll probably still try and bundle you a landline in as it's their cash cow.
  5. Currently with Sky, after you give your 31 days notice of cancellation you should find a 35% TV discount offer awaiting in your online account. Ignore this and the figure increases to 50% shortly after your channels go off a month later. Over the following weeks they'll then begin phoning and emailing you with more offers. It's therefore recommended to go online and set your account marketing preferences to "yes" before cancellation. The current top line offer for TV is 60% off plus £100 (2 x £50) credit on your bill. This offer is available on all size Sky TV packages (excludes BT Sport etc), although you may find some call operators will try and push you in the direction of the bigger bundles. You can also up/downgrade each month and still keep your discount. The Original bundle, for instance, which comprises Sky Atlantic and all the other entertainment channels as well as the Sky+ features works out at a total of £3.20 for one year with this deal as almost all the cost is soaked up by the bill credit.
  6. End results should look something a bit like this. Pic taken last week before they showed our Blackburn replay free, which was also on BT.
  7. Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in the main forum. Both semi finals, including ours, will be shown live on Eurosport Deutschland this weekend if anyone fancies an alternative to paying for BT or watching on a stream? The channel did a deal with the FA earlier this season. Unlike British Eurosport, it's German counterpart is a free to air channel - which means no card or subscription required - and broadcasts around Europe to anyone with a dish. You've just got to be able to move your dish about 3 inches or so clockwise (westerly) over to it's satellite at 19.2east where the rest of the FTA German channels are (if anyone remembers having Sky back in the 90's). No more than 1/2" to 1" backwards elevation too. Any box and dish size will do. Sky digibox, Freesat box, minidish whatever. Locate the satellite and manually add 12226H, 27500, 3/4 in the services menu to find the channel and include it on your system. Sky box viewers will need to watch via the 'other channels' menu. This useful site shows exactly where you need to position your dish. UK is 28.2east, German is 19.2east. http://www.dishpointer.com http://tv.eurosport.de/fussball/fussball-fa-cup-halbfinale_sto4675752/story.shtml http://tv.eurosport.de/tvschedule.shtml http://en.kingofsat.net/pos-19.2E-fta.php Come on red men!!!
  8. If you're still under contract with Virgin, you can use them switching a channel from the standard entertainment pack to 'stand alone' as grounds to be legitamitely let out of your contract early without penalty if you so desire. Should be listed in the t&c's. Sky viewers would be able to do similar were the channel subscription and not free to air.
  9. OK some might just be set in their ways but I've been sensing a bit of 'one-up-manship' from a few of those claiming they want United to win tonight, despite the result not being in our best interests. It's as if they feel it make them appear like better Liverpool supporters for it. Either that or it's some kind of Evertonian esque 'hate our rivals more than we support our own team' type syndrome. If United help us to the title by taking points off City, no one's going to look back through the history books and remember tonight's result. All anyone will recall was that in 2013-14 Liverpool were champions of England. End of. I don't care. I just want success for Liverpool. If Rooney, Evra or whichever c#nt scores a late winner I will be dancing around my living room!! Put it this way. Who do you think Brendan Rodgers will be supporting this evening?
  10. It's predominmatly the younger, more impressionable, 'just out of school' gangs of lads who usually sing the Munich songs. I like to think it's just immaturity as we all thought it was cool back then too, but as you grow up you realise it's not. Didn't go yesterday but they were singing it on the train there and back to the LC game at OT back in October. I've shouted at them to pack it in a couple of times in the past but you have to watch yourself when you're outnumbered.
  11. Two tickets available for Haydock Park this Saturday 20th July. There's a full evening racecard followed by a Madness concert. Tickets are normally £45 each in the County Enclosure and have long since sold out. I'm selling these for just £23 each. Half price. PM me if interested. Can meet in town or Huyton. A 'smart casual' dress code applies in the County Enclosure (no jeans / trainers). There's also a bus that goes staight from town to the racecourse. Details can be found on the website. https://haydocktickets.thejockeyclub.co.uk/Online/default.asp
