  1. I think Klopp said in the press conference that the short corner routine was something we had planned for but we just didn't defend it properly. So obviously Keita was the designated man to defend Lemar or that space. He just didn't do it correctly. You can see how he would be the one put out there as he is not great in the air, probably wouldn't win a second ball in the box and wouldn't threaten on the counter. It's bad when you can't even find a position for him when defending a corner.
  2. Honestly if the Geordies had the pick of the other 19 premier league managers to replace Bruce, Ole could genuinely come last in a fans vote. How is he still the Manchester United manager?
  3. John Barnes was a delight to watch and was the best player, by a mile, in the best team in England, by a mile for 3 years. If he doesn't get in the team I'm disappointed. The team should be 442 with Terry Mac (who always made my best ever Liverpool eleven until Mo came along) missing out and a front 4 of Mo, Kenny, Rush and Barnes.
  4. You'd drop Maradona for Patrick Vieira? Wow
  5. Bobby Robson was a good coach but won very little and played Terry Fenwick in a WC quarter final
  6. Surprised it took you 68.5 minutes. She is indeed
  7. I watched the game back earlier and we were a lot better than then 2nd half. They got the 2 goals but besides that they didn't do much else. We penned them in for large parts and created a few chances without opening them up regularly. They dominated possession in the 1st half and had a few chances - the very good save from Foden, the one where Allison came off his line to smother Foden and the de Bruyne header but they weren't battering the goal. You could see in that 1st half how they have dropped points v Spurs and Southampton. They press superbly and have quality everywhere but do lack a cutting edge and it will catch them in some games. The cunts
  8. And we have 3 in there and they have 4. Their wingers play high and wide but Grealish gave them an extra body in there today
  9. Silva (the prick) was a mile better than Foden today. Shared MOTM me bollox.
  10. We used to get pissed of with Ridgers for being up his own are and being over confident but hd was rarely I'd do snide about it and he had achieved a lot more in his managerial career at that stage than Ole ever has or will ever. His appointment is the equivalent of David Fairclough replacing Houllier
  11. In the article he has City's net spend at £350m in the past 5 years. It's more like £550 and ours was too high by about £50m. Good read though
  12. Their purchases over the past 3 years have definitely improved. It will be easier for a competent manager to succeed when they eventually hire one. Van Gaal and Mourinho were busted flushed when appointed, Moyes is a good manager of a mid-table to top 6 team and Solskjaer is a Molde manager.
  13. In the past 5 years, Arsenal, Chelsea (twice), us (twice), City, United (twice) and Spurs have reached European Cup finals with 2 CL wins and 2 EL wins. The 4 English teams are in the 6 favourites to win the champions league. The 76 to 85 period was a glorious era for English teams but the times we are in currently are just as good. It's no joke to be winning the league at the moment.
  14. Started up front for City tonight. Will he start left wing on Sunday to try take advantage of Milner's lack of pace?
  15. In The Line Of Fire. Not the best but just a favourite of mine. Clint and Malkovich are superb in it.
  16. You think mass medicating the population without consent is Fascist? Was creating clean running water in houses fascism? Was the banning of chalk in flour fascism? Pasteurization fascist? Or should every country have had a referendum on each?
  17. Wright was first capped in 84 and last capped in 96. He would have made the 92 and probably 96 Euro squads if he wasn't injured so intersects all of the listed players. Parker played in a 3 at the back in 1990. Watson was a push alright. Pallister, hardly capped and Bruce, never capped, were still around at the same time as Wright. Just because Robson and Taylor weren't big fans doesn't mean they weren't very good centre backs or that they didn't exist. Same with Keown. Walker was capped between 88 and 93. None of the players listed above were Campbell Terry Ferdinand level but Butcher Adams Walker Pallister were 4 very good centre backs.
  18. Because Babb is on the right and Scales on the left? Me too
  19. He won his first cap in 1984 so was up against Butcher Adams Pallister Walker Parker Watson Bruce and Keown. It wasn't a Campbell Ferdinand Terry era but it wasn't all Terry Fenwick and Alvin Martin either. I've said this before on here but how did Terry fucking Fenwick play in a world cup quarter final with England?
  20. On 4 of the last 5 occasions that we have played Brentford we have gone on to win the trophy. 1988/89 FA cup - champions 1983/84 Leage cup - champions 1974/75 Leage cup - 4th round defeat to Middlesbrough 1946/47 1st Division x 2 - champions Something similar please. In the loss to Middlesbrough 74, Souness (and a less balding David Armstrong) played for a Jack Charlton, who received his OBE the day before the tie, managed Boro. Alec Lindsay missed a penalty for us and Willie Maddren got the only goal of the game in the 90th minute.
