    Exactly - their first 5 wins in the European Cup are extremely dubious to say the least. Their arrogance know no bounds. And now they've got Zidane on board. Wow, so what? Great player, doesn't mean anything now.....

    Interesting you pick that game, the TV analysts couldn't believe how negative LFC were - I also remember a game a month later away v Crystal Palace which finally confirmed to me it was all over. I actually think the start was the FA Cup Semi v Crystal Palace at Villa Park - the defensive frailties were shown up. The winning of the League only delayed the inevitable as far as I was concerned.

    I was at Anfield in Euro 96 and saw Nedved play, and score in the win over Italy. From then, I was a fan of his, a fantastic player, probably a little underated. As were the Czechs. That 2004 team were a pleasure to watch, and the game v Holland a modern day classic.

    Arsenal 89 - even now I still don't accept what happened. Can't believe the ref didn't blow as Dixon cleared it upfield - after everything the team/supporters had been through - the very least he could have done was blow early. Also, Kevin Richardson pretending he was injured when he wasn't - and there's the 'dodgy' injury time. Finished level on points, same goal difference, and conceded less....... ...and did Alan Smith touch it???

    Why don't they do what thay do in Italy? Publish the first half of the season - were you play everybody, then the second half is exactly the same. None of this playing teams twice in a few weeks.

    The sooner the Business of Football is run like in Germany, the better. The current situation can't go on. Why should football clubs 'get away' with being insolvent?

    They seem to forget that at that time St Etienne - who were a bloody good team, who Bayern squeaked past in the 76 Final; BMGladbach who had knocked Bayern off their perch, Bruges who were a good team, with good Dutch/Belgian players. It wasn't about money then.

    Unfortunately, teams will still lie down and roll over against them. Since March 14 it has been seen when you go at them and have belief they are beatable - having the right players is helpful of course. They are just flat-track bullies, and Vidic is no more than a thug - up against proper forwards just looks lost. United will have to wait to join the big European '4' - Real Madrid, Milan, Bayern Munich, Ajax! Though I'm sure there's another team up there.......

    And to think he was originally a holding midfielder...... Spain or Argentina for the World Cup..??? (Providing Argentina get there) That Barca midfield is basically the Spanish midfield - as well as Senna, Fabregas, Xabi Alonso waiting for a chance.

    As well as Barca are playing - I just know what is going to happen. It has an air of inevitability about it. Ginsoak has got it wrong, again, but somehow ends up smelling of roses.

    Yeah , and what happened? A simply stunning attacking performance, courtesy of Savicevic, et al. It doesn't matter how good/bad Man Ure play, they'll spawn it. If there is any justice they'll suffer an agonising, heartbreaking injury time defeat after dominating - hitting posts, bars, shots off the line, etc I still haven't forgotten the daylight robbery of 1999 vs Bayern.

    They were all beaten - just shows how bloody awful they all were. It's pity they all couldn't have gone down. And to make it worse, Hull & Sunderland did a lap of 'honour'. What for? For being slightly less crap and staying up.

    I'd agree, you'd have to be incredibly naive to think because we're British, there is no 'dodgy practices' going on. Just like Brits don't take Performance Enhancing drugs. There are instances when I do wonder if there is something going on - it's surely not just 'good luck' etc In fact, I'll be surprise if in years to come, the whistle isn't blown.

    Hit the nail on the head!! Pity UEFA have ruined it - what is wrong with a 2-legged knock-out competition? Sorry, I forgot, they're not making enough cash.... Twas better when there was a Champions Cup, UEFA Cup & a CWCup..

    Agree, it's either one or the other. Either football started in 1992 and they've won 11 PL Titles. Or they've won 7 League Title - it's a completely different competiton, and whatever Sky may say, it's not as competitive. We'll never get Derby, Forest, QPR, Villa, Ipswich, Soton, Watford, Everton, Leeds, Norwich either winning/challenging for the Title again.

    I'd say all of them as well. As for Newcastle - I can't abide all this 'Geordie Nation' shite! And 'We're the best supporters in the World'. So when Ossie Ardiles was the Manager in 1992 the ground was only half full I seem to remember. They don't seem to realise that they're not a big club. They've won nothing since the 69 Fairs Cup. They're a joke of a club. As for Sunderland, Sbragia is a mate of Ginsoak, so I hope they go, Hull are managed by 'Big Sham's' mate - so I hope they go as well.

    Did you see Germany v England? How awful were England? Couldn't pass water, it was is if they'd never played together. Don't know who the coaches are but they can't be much good.
