1. Very disappointed with Butterfly House - '1000 Years', 'Sandhills' and the title track are strong alright but the rest is just uninspired. Someone please tell me 'Another Way' is a knowing tribute to Alex Chilton because if not it's cheek straight from the Noel Gallagher school of songwriting. Still, The Coral and Magic & Medicine are up there with the very best of the 00s and they're yet to put out a bad record it's just a shame they never went on a run of truly great albums, as they were certainly capable of it.
2. I thought it was funny. Y'know this is easily best LFC forum around, in my humble - but the humourless cunt quotient is off the scale here. And for once it's not entirely the wools' fault. It's hardly been a joyous time supporting Liverpool lately but the fabled Scouse sense of humour has been distinctly lacking both here and elsewhere. 'Neg' away.
3. Posted this elsewhere: We're singin' Cole Shut Your Mouth, shut your mouth Massive head but little arms and shut your mouth Cole shut your mouth, shut your mouth But you're a red and so it's sound now shut your mouth repeat to infinity
4. Song ideas? I reckon a Julian Cope number: 'Cole Shut Your Mouth' has potential.
5. Made this for one of the "Save LFC!!111!eleven!" groups on Facebook. Some of them got surprisingly uppity about questioning Purslow's role. But then it is Facebook.
6. I was at Old Trafford, Richard, and he was literally spraying balls to Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres all day.
7. Too old for that lark. "Torres is not for sale and we don't welcome any offers for him. We want to keep him. "We spoke about football and I told him how much I am looking forward to working with him. "Christian Purslow [managing director] was also at the meeting and chatted to Fernando for a lot longer after I left but my chat with him was only about football matters." "If you want to know about transfer targets, and how things are progressing, you'll have to ask [managing director] Christian Purslow because he's the man looking after those discussions, not me." "I'm here to coach the team." OUT IN NOVEMBER!
8. I've written bits and pieces which have been used on some Radio 4 and Radio Scotland sketch and panel shows - nothing substantial or career-making but a rewarding hobby nonetheless. Anyone here write short stories? I've got some ideas which I think could manifest themselves as Kafkaesque comedies but am clueless about structure.
9. Just spent a whole day watching these guys' film reviews - brief, incisive and very funny (especially when slating a piece of shit). They were reviewing together for damn near 30 years and some kind fellow has put shitloads of them on Youtube. Highly recommended. *gives two thumbs up*
10. Obviously a lot of these are meta and therefore will fly over the heads of lowdown dirty newbs like me - this, however is hilarious: Some of them I've seen before on the Football 365 forum, did they all originate here?
11. Pfft, I'd rather stay in and play Sega Mega Drive Collection with David James.
12. Some amazing double standards on show in this thread. Most of us are aware that Souness didn't mean 'rape' in its common sense but that's beside the point: why shouldn't the act of rape be a source of humour? Anything is fair game in my opinion. Mop and bucket would be far more effective than a brush.
13. Why did RTÉ apologize for Souey saying that? In my mind, rape is the sincerest form of flattery...
14. He may well be happy with Roy of the Reds but Sid Lowe (a quality journo who certainly knows his Spanish onions) believes - having spoken to members of the player's entourage - Torres will be off, probably to another English club: Exactly 28 mins in: World Cup Daily: Holland send Uruguay packing as they reach the final | Football | guardian.co.uk He basically says Hodgson's appointment will have no bearing on Torres' decision and it is down to whether a change of ownership is on the horizon before the transfer window shuts. And we all know how likely that is. So nothing new, but for someone like Lowe to be saying this then I reckon all those kids who had 'Torres 9' printed on their new shirts should be pointed out and laughed at in the street. Sorry, I meant: 'fully reimbursed and issued with an apology'.
15. When he puts pen to paper Hodgson can turn to him and say "Baby, you're a wich man". Though I seem to remember Sol Campbell coming up here for a flying visit before signing for Arsenal on a 'free' as well.
16. Concerning the media and certain sections of our own support: how long until "respected Roy" who will "steady the ship" becomes "under-fire Hodgson" who is "fighting for his job"? I give it until after the United game. Would love more than anything to be made to eat my words next May.
17. Exactly this. If things go wrong - which they might - I hope we all hold the true villains accountable (that particular cast varies depending which side of the division you're on). This is a divisive appointment, and for good reason; Kenny would have unified the fans and he didn't get the job. So we will remain divided. Still, as fragmented as the fanbase will continue to be: we all go down together.
18. The levels of faggotry in this thread are immense. "TART"? "Royalists"? Give me a break. You're meant to be grown men. Fuck's sake.
