A 5-1 victory and yet there were still periods of the game when you were worried. For all our attacking thrust as a team which is pretty much spot on, our defencive solidity as a team, leaves a lot to be desired. Whether redressing that balance involves losing something in attack, I'm not sure, but just like on Wednesday - a better attacking team would of scored more against us and that is with us riding our luck at times. Our issues have not gone away, they're just under the surface for the time being. Next up a Sam Allardyce team

When I got back in the pub last night they were all cock-a-hoop with themselves, laughing, big smiles, hugging. You know the usual reaction normal football fans would have when winning a trophy, this was this lot last night. One of them earlier in the day even told me he'd won two adult and two child tickets for their home game against Swansea and he said he'd gave them back as he couldn't be arsed going, and he then tells me, the person who won them next, he gave them back as well! and when I get back, he's giving it the 'corner turned and we're on our way back up' garbage and proclaiming his love for Everton.
