  1. Or join a start-up that is going places. Start-ups have a great feel. If you can find an ambitious one, then it might meet your ideal criteria.
  2. Pity. I thought the game was going to get tasty given that the ref has missed so much.
  3. Well done to Charlie Adam for twisting and turning and putting in a tasty cross with his right.
  4. 32. I got them all except number 28.
  5. NO!! I am Zorro...and so is my wife!
  6. Week after week bad decisions are made by officials in the Premiership. I am not specifically talking about Jays sending off here, I am generalising that in EVERY prem game there is a bad decision. A very bad decision. One that defies logic. One that effects the outcome of the game more often than not. The FA are responsible for this. Their own house is not in order. They need to be exposed. Managers need to unite in their condemnation of genuinely poor decisions. It is unacceptable that the FA cannot officiate games at this level of football.
  7. Nectar. Is there a nicer sweet? I don't think so. > o
  8. I met ChickenLicken. I wasn't really star struck, as such. I just said "what? THE ChickenLicken?", then twiddled my fingers and giggled.
  9. I think he was poor Yesterday. He rarely went outside his man. In fact he rarely went passed him. He was too deep too often. His shooting was poor. I felt that Enrique did most Downing's work on the left flank in the opposition half. I also noticed that there were a couple of times towards the end of the game where Enrique had an easy option to pass to his left winger but decided not to. Whilst I don't condone this I interpreted it as a lack of confidence in Downing. Early on in the season Downing looked like a good buy. Perhaps his confidence is low.
  10. So stunned when I heard this on the way to the match. Absolutely gutted.
  11. Edit: Doh. ChickenLicken has already done my gag with a better delivery.
  12. 'kin'ell!! It's Simon and Garfunkel.
  13. Sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like a good bloke - everyone has only decent things to say about him.
  14. The original post of this thread was about formations, so I am adding an opinion in the context of Yesterday's performance. We started with 4-4-2 and very early it was clear that it wasn't working. It doesn't mean though that it can never work. It largely depends on personel, and probably opposition formation too. For instance, the guy they played in front of their back four was getting too much time and space. He was allowed to control that area of the pitch. Formation aside, we needed to put him under a bit of pressure. We did this when Dirk came on, and we switched to what looked from the main stand as 4-3-3. However we did wait until half time for that. I think that we could have made a formational adjustment without making a substitution to handle this, much earlier in the first half.
  15. Just got back from the game about an hour ago. Very frustrating game. The 4-4-2 clearly wasn't working today. Henderson is not cut out for wide-right midfield. The opposition played with a very deep midfielder (Britton) just in front of the back four. He got a lot of room in between our midfield and attack and had far too much time on the ball. When they got they ball they passed it nicely and patiently. We probably should have gone three up front sooner, and put pressure on the deep man. We did do this later - in the second half but really only created pressure late on. Swansea played well. Two points dropped.
