  1. I was told on cup final day by someone I didn't know that Martinez would be our manager next season. I thought he was talking shite so ignored it at the time but I wonder now whether he knew something. My thoughts for what it's worth is that I think it would a better appointment than Hodgson but only because I like Martinez's style of play better and I don't know that he's an utter cunt of a man. That's not to say I think he would be a good appointment. I'd liken it to a gamble by the owners on a 33/1 outsider at the races where it's been ridden previously by shit jockeys and you don't know whether it's capable of better than it's shown to date. If it comes in you not only get the spoils but the satisfaction of feeling you know better than everybody else. Most of the time you just end up looking back at the end of the race thinking why the fuck did I back that.
  2. I thought whenever he got more than a couple of games on the bounce that he showed he was a good player. Unfortunately, he'd then get injured again and be getting back into form before being injured yet again. Re-signing him was a mistake but all the best to the lad.
  3. I totally agree with the point you are making in that Kenny should be here next season and there shouldn't be an assumption that because we were poor over one year that Kenny cannot get it right. I know it's been mentioned in the past but if United had binned Ferguson when they finished 13th then the last 20 years could have different for them. On the flip side your point about Rafa is incorrect. He had one season where we did not make the Champions league and got the boot without any time to correct his mistakes.
  4. How has he taken a blast at him? All he has said is that he knows Kenny won't play him every week but that he believes in himself enough to think that he should. That headline is just shithouse journalism.
  5. He's been poor almost every game he's played since about November and even before then was hyped way beyond what he actually is off the back of one or two decent performances. Constantly picks the wrong option and loses the ball going forward and is average at best defensively. I would have no complaint at all if he's replaced for next season.
  6. Always liked that left back Paul Konchesky at Leicester myself. International class players don't often become available at the sort of price we could get him for. A few million plus Sterling and Suso should do it.
  7. I've been successful but my mate who I've gone to all of the games with hasn't been. Feel a bit flat about it all to be honest as a trip to Wembley on my bill won't quite be the same. The FA can go fuck themselves.
  8. To top off the good news the referee is Howard Webb.
  9. If Kenny believed a high pressing game is the way to win games he wouldn't have us playing so passively without the ball. When we don't have possession we employ exactly the same tactics that Hodgson did. I had flashbacks of Blackpool last season today watching Wigan being allowed to play keepball under no pressure because our players were under instruction to sit back and keep shape.
  10. The thing I want to know is exactly what is Comolli responsible for? If it's scouting, signings and transfer negotiations then he has been an absolute disaster. If it's tactics then what is the point of Kenny even being at the club as his hands would be very tied. If it's youth development then how has he impacted and what is he doing? From my perspective I don't see what value the man has added to our club whatsoever.
  11. Can't be arsed to analyse that surrender but it's a very good job we got some points on the board early as our form over the last 13 matches is relegation form. Plenty of talk about signings here but for me there is no doubt that our first eleven this time last year was far better than we have now. I think there are going to be some horrible times ahead if the decision is taken to persist with the players that came in.
  12. In most cases there is. Normally through medication, surgery or changes in lifestyle.
  13. You are right in that a post mortem shows no obvious sign of death but it's believed that in most cases an irregularity in the heart beat can cause it to just stop. This can be picked up in screening and treated but just not proved after the event. I'm sure your post is more ignorant rather than deliberately offensive but sometimes if you don't know what you're talking about it's best to say nothing.
  14. I've signed this and would recommend that anyone who has a young family does too. It's the sort of condition that you don't give much thought to until you know someone who has suffered it.
  15. I'm a season ticket holder and this season I've at least seen every full game bar 4 which I missed due to work commitments which were both games against Wolves and the home games with Sunderland and Norwich. Of the games I've seen my opinion is that we have had five really bad performances (Spurs (a), Swansea (h), Stoke (h), Bolton (a) and yesterday). On the flip side the games I've seen where I think our general play was excellent I can think of only Bolton (h), QPR (h), United (h), West Brom (a), Villa (a) and Arsenal (h). We've had some good results outside of that but I'm focussing on performances. There seems to be an overstatement of just how good some of the chances we create are. We are wasteful but we create lots of chances under pressure which have to be taken quickly while giving away sitters on the few chances we conceed. I think it's down in part to a lack of quality as well as our style of play which in the main is rigid, slow and predictable other than where Suarez has a moment of magic. It was clear when we signed the players we did last Summer that we would be changing our style of play and I commented on it on here. Unfortunately due to our structure off the field we don't know whether Comoli, Kenny or both are responsible. Someone needs to be accountable and I am all for giving second chances to both but the mistakes need to be acknowledged through actions this Summer. As a final thought every average mid-table team is capable of great or terrible performances and that's exactly what we are.
  16. Haven't seen the exact quote so could be wrong but someone told me that's a partial quote and that he qualified it by saying at Liverpool he meant in the future and not while Kenny was there. Either way it's still horrible to see him creeping to those cunts.
  17. ole ole ole Dirky Kuyt ole ole Dirky Kuyt, Dirky Kuyt, Dirky Kuyt ole ole His old Feyenoord song and it got a good airing around me yesterday.
  18. You may know more than me then but those forced apologies last week hung him out to dry and in terms of real action they've only been noticeable by their reluctance to say or do anything public themselves.
  19. In my opinion anything could happen. Taking Suarez out of the equation, our owners have already proven in my eyes that they value corporate image over the morale of anyone involved with the team so I would not rule out them instigating his departure and trying to use it as a PR exercise for the sponsors and media.
  20. And also to act as United's supersub if needed.
  21. Keeping my fingers crossed this has a bit of truth in it. The race may be a marathon but at the rate Zeke has raced off I still want to keep a steady pace! The Press Association: Lockerbie bomber 'close to death'
  22. I'm off to Milan in 3 weeks time with the Mrs. She's always wanted to go to Italy and is hugely into fashion so I booked it for her birthday. It was only 50 quid return altogether for the pair of us but I haven't got much idea what there is to do when we get there. If anyone has any suggestions then they'd be welcome. Obviously, I expect plenty of sex for being so thoughtful as that's how the deal works but I mean in terms of things to do in the city itself.
  23. Webb, Atkinson or Friend would be a disaster. Webb and Friend because they hate us and Atkinson because he always goes against the home crowd. Lee Mason would be bad too from a sheer ineptitude point of view but that could work for or against us.
