  2. Pt2 Hello Mike, Chamakh's goalscoring record in France isn't that impressive but he is a good player who a lot of Europe's top clubs are chasing. Liverpool are clearly favourites to sign him though and he won't cost anything like the £25m figure that's been mentioned elsewhere. Why is it so sacrilegious to criticise Jamie Carragher? He's been woefully off form for quite a while now. by bob at 1/14/2010 1:32:56 PM1:32 PM yesterday It's not sacreligious to criticise any player. If they play well you have to say it and if they play badly you have to say it as well. Carragher has more than earned the right to be cut a little bit of slack even if his performance levels do drop a little, though. For me he has been one of Liverpool's best players of the past decade. It is natural, though, that as the years creep up he won't be able to hit the heights as often as he did in the past. He's still Liverpool's best out and out defender by some distance, though. Do you not think Chamakh will opt to go to Arsenal instead? by Jac at 1/14/2010 1:36:37 PM1:36 PM yesterday I can't see that happening Jac. I've been reliably informed that Chamakh is a man of impeccable taste. hi tony. you mentioned a few players like voronin and riera who are not good enough, but what about lucas? he's honestly not good enough to play in the premier league, yet he has played every game for liverpool this season!!! is that not outrageous?? by charles at 1/14/2010 1:37:15 PM1:37 PM yesterday Not since Luis Garcia have Liverpool had a player who divides opinion like Lucas. As far as I'm concerned, he's an honest, dedicated professional who gives his all in every single game and who has been improving this season. I don't see him as a first team regular, though, his role should probably be as a squad player. I saw Christian Purslow, Liverpool Managing Director, say that investment in the club is likely to be forthcoming soon. Do you share his optimism? by Coops at 1/14/2010 1:39:16 PM1:39 PM yesterday I know for a fact that Christian Purslow is working incredibly hard to secure investment. His big problem is that he's basically inviting people to join the most dysfunctional family since the Simpsons. It's got to be a hard sell asking people to come on board with Hicks and Gillett. Do you think Liverpool will make the top 4 this season? by Ady Pearson at 1/14/2010 1:40:33 PM1:40 PM yesterday Hello Ady, I wouldn't use your money to bet on it. They'll do well to stay in the top six. What do you think Maxi Rodriguez will bring to the team? by Seb at 1/14/2010 1:41:11 PM1:41 PM yesterday Hello Seb, industry and technique is the short answer. Maxi isn't a typical winger, he lacks pace and doesn't really engage full backs but he is excellent on the ball and has an intelligence which will improve the team. Do you think that one of the reasons we are doing so bad is because we sold alonso? by Jason at 1/14/2010 1:43:08 PM1:43 PM yesterday It certainly hasn't helped that's for sure. Alonso was a key player for Liverpool and his presence in the side has been sorely missed. do you think aqualini will prove to be a good signing? by Mat at 1/14/2010 1:44:58 PM1:44 PM yesterday Hate to be pessimistic but I just don't see it Mat. Aquilani has been held back by injuries throughouthis career and you have to wonder whether he is cut out for the physical side of English football. Hi Tony, how can Rafa lift the teams spirits after this defeat? by Paul at 1/14/2010 1:46:23 PM1:46 PM yesterday Hello Paul, lifting the team's spirits is going to be a massive challenge for Benitez. Last time Liverpool were knocked out of the FA Cup by a lower division team they faced Inter Milan three days later so motivation took care of itself. This time around it's Stoke................. was there a bust up between gerrard and benitez last night by abdou at 1/14/2010 1:47:43 PM1:47 PM yesterday Hello Abdou, there was no bust up. Gerrard felt a problem in his hamstring and so went off. tony - if you was the liverpool manager what would you be doing different by BHB at 1/14/2010 1:48:17 PM1:48 PM yesterday Hello BHB, strange name that but somehow familiar. If I was Liverpool manager the team would probably be in the Unibond Premier by now. Leave management to the experts. is it other teams getting better, or liverpool just getting worse? by Joe at 1/14/2010 1:49:14 PM1:49 PM yesterday Liverpool have definitely gone backwards this season Joe. Can you enlighten us on the potential new investors Purslow keeps promising us? by Barnes at 1/14/2010 1:49:36 PM1:49 PM yesterday The club are playing their cards close to their chest on investment Barnes and quite rightly so I suppose. HI Tony, would you sack benitez? by DEREK at 1/14/2010 1:50:42 PM1:50 PM yesterday Hello Derek, I don't see what sacking Benitez would achieve while the owners are only able to offer any new manager no real transfer budget and uncertainty in the How can Chamakh be costing 12milllion if he is out of contract in June? by Ian at 1/14/2010 1:52:05 PM1:52 PM yesterday He won't cost anything like that much Ian. Hi Tony, What do you think of the idea that there is no one of the caibre required to replace Benitez currently available? by julian at 1/14/2010 1:52:52 PM1:52 PM yesterday There are plenty of great managers about Julian, the question is how many of them would be desperate to work for Liverpool in their current state? Hi Tony, whats the latest news on the injuries we suffered last night ? by razor at 1/14/2010 1:53:40 PM1:53 PM yesterday Benayoun has a broken rib but we're still waiting for further news on Torres and Gerrard. Tony - if you had one message for liverpool fans what would it be? by L12 at 1/14/2010 1:55:34 PM1:55 PM yesterday Not to lose sight of the club that Liverpool was and can still be again. And not to lose sight of the damage that is being done to the club by the current owners. Do you know anything about the rumour that "senior players" were angry that Darby was dropped from the squad? by Chiz at 1/14/2010 1:56:51 PM1:56 PM yesterday I haven't heard that Chiz but I do know that Stephen Darby is a popular figure with the senior players. do you think most of the press dislike benitez and some questions they ask show massive disrespect. They seem to be thriving on it and will only be happy when they've forced him out. by zappa at 1/14/2010 1:57:31 PM1:57 PM yesterday In some cases that is undeniably true Zappa. Mourinho or Hiddink? by Emanuel at 1/14/2010 1:58:55 PM1:58 PM yesterday I'm a big fan of Mourinho. Seven years without losing a single home game is an unbelievable record. Any chance of a trial at Liverpool? by kopite19 at 1/14/2010 1:59:41 PM1:59 PM yesterday I've heard you could teach the players and the manager a thing or two Kopite 19. That Crosby League is some breeding ground of talent. Which would you pick - Americans to stay and Rafa to continue or new owners and new manager? by Kopash at 1/14/2010 2:01:06 PM2:01 PM yesterday Almost anything that involves the departure of owners who have done nothing but fail the club would have to be viewed as a positive step forward for the club. Only half answered Kopash q there Tony????? by Ian at 1/14/2010 2:04:26 PM2:04 PM yesterday Cowardice is a terrible thing! Plus I really don't believe journalists should call for managers heads. That's just a personal view but I don't see what journalists know that supporters don't. Those who pay for admission every week should always have the loudest say. Why does'nt David Moores speak out? by Emanuel at 1/14/2010 2:06:16 PM2:06 PM yesterday That's a great question Emanuel and the answer is I don't know but it is high time that he did. Sorry to have to end the webchat here and thanks very much for all of your questions (I've only managed to answer about a quarter of them) but I've got to finish now because at some point I need to start work on tomorrow's edition. Hopefully the next time we do one of these things will be looking up for Liverpool on and off the pitch. We must say a big thank you to Tony, who as you can imagine has got a very busy day ahead of him. Thanks for the fantastic response to the debate. We were inundated with questions and apologise if yours wasn't answered. Keep up to date with the latest developments at Liverpool, here: Times Online | News and Views from The Times and Sunday Times
  3. From Tony Barretts webchat just completed on the Times website - some good stuff in there. A bit long so will split it into 2. Liverpool FC webchat, with Tony Barrett Good afternoon, I'm sure that every Liverpool supporter is hurting today after the defeat against Reading last night. Setbacks don't come much bigger than that one so if anyone has any questions or wants to make a point, no matter how controversial, please feel free to do so. With poor display after poor display, would you say Rafa has lost the players, Tony? by Phil at 1/14/2010 12:57:47 PM12:57 PM yesterday Hello Phil, that's a question which has been asked by a lot of people after last night and when Liverpool play as badly as they did and so obviously lack passion then it's easy to understand why. I'm always dubious about the idea of managers losing dressing rooms, at times they are popular and at others they aren't. Obviously when results go against you players will always look for reasons why it is happening and it wouldn't be any great surprise if there were some in the dressing room who don't have the same level of faith in the manager as they had a year or so ago when things were going so much better. I have faith in Rafa's ability to pull us through this rough patch, I think it's more the controversy over the owners that has unsettled this football club more than anything else. by Tom at 1/14/2010 1:01:00 PM1:01 PM yesterday Afternoon Tom, your faith in the manager is admirable. A journalist said on television today that at other clubs there would have been protests against the manager after a result as bad as last night's and I think there's a lot of truth in that. Your view on the owners unsettling the club also has a lot of merit. In the 1970s and 80s everyone wanted to know what the secret of Liverpool's success was and it was simple - they were well run off the pitch and this ensured that they were geared for success. At present, off the field has been a shambles for far too long and it is always going to be a matter of time before this begins to affect performances on the pitch. This is not to absolve Rafa Benitez of his share of responsibility, though. what's the future for Torres? by Philyio at 1/14/2010 1:05:11 PM1:05 PM yesterday There's a lot of speculation about Fernando Torres but in many ways he is a unique individual. He was recently asked what he would do if Liverpool failed to finish in the top four and he was almost affronted by the question. He simply said "I would stay and try to help us get back into the top four". That sums him up but the club can't take that kind of loyalty for granted because Torres wants and deserves success. do liverpool need a new scouting system? All these remarkable finds have not been very good and the only successes have been players we have all heard of. by Robin at 1/14/2010 1:08:08 PM1:08 PM yesterday Spot on Robin. Liverpool's dealings in the transfer market in the last two seasons have been awful. Dossena, Degen, Riera, Keane and Voronin were and are not good enough for a team with title winning pretensions and at this stage the jury remains out on Alberto Aquilani and Glen Johnson. If the calibre of player being brought in is not good enough then the buck must stop first with the chief scout and ultimately with the manager. It would be a lot easier for Liverpool to buy players if they had a more substantial transfer budget though because on far too many occasions Benitez is having to buy players who are his second or even third choices. I don't think anyone for a minute would believe he was desperate to sign Kyrgiakos, for example, but that was all he could afford. Hi Tony, do you think liverpool need more english/british players, as the foreign starts don't seem to be bothered when they lose, and they don't seem to understand the fans, thanks kay, london by Kay, London at 1/14/2010 1:12:08 PM1:12 PM yesterday Hello Kay, the problem with buying English players is they tend to be a lot more expensive than their continental counterparts, Glen Johnson being an obvious example. It's a good point, though, because Liverpool would arguably have benefitted from buying a proven Premier League performer like Lee Cattermole in the summer. A player with desire, determination and a fierce will to win. Qualities which haven't been conspicuous at Anfield all that often this season. Do you think Liverpool should have kept Robbie Keane by al at 1/14/2010 1:15:26 PM1:15 PM yesterday Hello Al, I don't think Liverpool should have ever gone near Keane. He wasn't good enough and they actually did well to recoup the lion's share of the fee they paid for him. I don't think anyone is particularly surprised to see him struggling at Spurs. Can Liverpool afford to sack Benitez ? by Miles at 1/14/2010 1:17:36 PM1:17 PM yesterday Hello Miles, I'd be surprised if Liverpool do have the necessary funds to dismiss Benitez. They struggle enough to meet their hefty annual debt repayments and there is no money available for players this month, apart from whatever funds are brought in from the possible sale of Ryan Babel, so the chances of there being a pot of money available to pay Benitez off must be particularly slim. I suppose Hicks and Gillett could dip into their own bank accounts to come up with a pay off but I wouldn't advise anyone to hold their breath for that to happen. Do you think youth players such as young pacheo, Amoo and Eccleston should be given a greater chance? The way I see it, is we pretty such have had the same 18 players (give or take a few) for the last 3 seasons and players like Kuyt look burnt out from playing 50 plus games a season. The youth might have that passion and energ we seem to be lacking.... by Cath at 1/14/2010 1:20:03 PM1:20 PM yesterday Definitely Cath. Benitez has always been reluctant to blood young players, maybe because it is difficult to do so at a club like Liverpool where expectations and pressure are so high. But the time has come for the likes of Pacheco and Amoo to be given their chance. Their enthusiasm might even lift spirits in the camp. Dirk Kuyt - genuinely awful. Discuss. by Phil_1984 at 1/14/2010 1:21:55 PM1:21 PM yesterday Hello Phil, your assessment is probably fair this season. Kuyt looks like he's totally bereft of confidence and energy to me. All the hard work and running he's put in in recent seasons looks to have taken its toll. A spell on the sidelines would do him the world of good, though. Hi Tony, to what extent do you think the political climate is affecting the players, and do you think the minimal investment - in comparison to a second place finish and the amount we made in sales - knocked the proverbial wind out of our player's sales before a ball had been kicked this season? by Dave at 1/14/2010 1:23:13 PM1:23 PM yesterday That's a good theory Dave. Players know when a club is on the up, they're not stupid. For me, Liverpool are suffering from "Atletico Madrid syndrome" in that the players suffer badly from a lack of incentive when they know they can't win the title but still have to carry the burden of the expectation that they should be there or at least thereabouts. I would imagine that when some of the top players look around the dressing room they just know they can't challenge. Benitez’s job is to coach the players, motivate them, pick the team and dictate tactics for each game, including changes to approach mid game if necessary. Would you say our current position (some would say demise) is down to him, the players or the owners? by Brian at 1/14/2010 1:26:38 PM1:26 PM yesterday All of them, Brian. When Liverpool won the Champions League it was a collective success, not an individual one for Benitez or anyone else. Even if the players didn't like Benitez and I'm not saying they don't, they still have a duty to perform for their club, for each other, for their supporters and to justify their salaries. Some clearly aren't doing that this season. hi tony, who do you think liverpool needs to sign most? by Sean at 1/14/2010 1:30:07 PM1:30 PM yesterday Hello Sean, a left back would be my choice. It looks to me that opponents are now targeting this position because they feel it is Liverpool's weak point. The sight of Emiliano Insua being nutmegged in the build up to Reading's winning goal won't have done anything to disabuse people of this theory. With reference to the previous comment regarding the youth team, if funds are so tight why are we trying to buy Chamakh for what will basically cost liverpool £25million when he isn't even proven. A striker who has a goal ratio of 1:4 simply isn't good enough for liverpool, pacheco will do a much better job and will show the real liverpool spirit by mike_lfc at 1/14/2010 1:31:35 PM1:31 PM yesterday

We moved leagues due to the increasing levels of violence, bottles, knives, screw drivers, constant threats. They live in this world of thinking their living in some kind of gangster rap video. Which is actually a really shit betamax one, filmed in the rain, stood in a bus shelter, with some bird with a trackie with her hair pulled right back and massive ear rings smoking a roll up.

  10. I will post up the Linux password cracking CD tonight - did not get a chance last night. It is only a small file (about 2mb). Will then have to post instructions on how to do it. Cant guarantee it will work on your PC but give it a go
  11. What is the operating system on the laptop?
  12. I always go a clean build. Then use something like Acronis True Image to make a backup of the PC image that you have built. Then if it screws up in the future, you can go back to the state it was in
  13. There is a way to reset XP passwords - I have a couple of CDs at home that can do this - I will have a look tonight and see how big the ISO image is. If it is manageable, I will post it up for you to download. Basically, it is a linux disk that will go into the SAM, find your account and ask if you want to blank the password.

  19. Drewy - saw this on one of the forums - do you definitely have the latest Flash installed? This could be the answer To be certain you have the latest Flashplayer, open Downloaded Files folder, look at the objects downloaded by right clicking on them and going to properties and then checking the version. You should have version 9 as newest flash player. I used to have this same problem and itwas because I didn't hve the latest flash installed although I thought I did.
  20. I would agree. Just for pleasure though, throw the HR department a thing called a "Subject Data access request" (Google it). It will have them tied up for months.
  21. Jesus - been getting annoyed by this as well. Cheers for that
