  1. He started against Milan in the Uefa Cup. Seriously fucked up. I reckon another big shout has to go to Herita Ilunga of West Ham.
  2. Two more... "People Like People Like You" by Spokes and "Just a Souvenir" by Squarepusher.
  3. I raise you his replacement, Andy Griffin.
  4. They are different players really, without going too much into clichés, Riera has a bit of flair about him, willing to take a man on, whereas Srna is a very methodical, skillful player. Both definitely have the end product though, and you cannot argue with him scoring 17 international goals from midfield/right-wing back, as well as his numerous assists. This clip was against Macedonia last year, came on as a late sub. Scored a belting free kick and then set up Eduardo for the winner. mp3jxU7Iywo&feature=related He has Bosnian Muslim origins (comes from border town of Metkovic, same place as Igor Stimac) and because of this, Hajduk Split rejected him as it was the height of the ethnic wars over there. Still made it though as he was so good.
  5. Srna can play as a full-back but is probably best described as a right-sided midfield player. Behind only Davor Suker as second all-time scorer for Croatia, excellent dead ball and crossing skills. Reasonably pacy and hardworking, still only 26. A little-known fact is Srna means "Deer" in Croatian.
  6. Great shouts Lurtzy. Some wrong 'uns on here though. Happy Gilmore? The Mask? Black Hawk Down? The Shawshank Redemption? Films which are the absolute antithesis of "cult." Another favourite of mine:
  7. I've read half of it, thought it was boring to be honest. Footballers don't particularly make the best authors do they?
  8. Had a shit load of dental treatment form the age of eight right through to 20. Broke them a good four times, knocked one of them so far up my gum that it was under my nostril then had a few abcesses (sp) and infections. With regard to the infections after ahving your wisdoms out, I recommend using Corsodyl and they'll soon fuck off. It's like acid but it doesn't half clean the shit out of your mouth.
  9. Even with the Aussies in transition, I think they'll win the Ashes. My problem with the England side is the attack. I've never rated James Anderson as a consistent test-standard bowler, and does anybody honestly believe Harmison has done enough to get back into the team? Sidebottom has been reasonable, but Broad is very raw. Out of all of them, I think the only world class bowler is Flintoff (when fit). Monty looks a shadow of his former self and I doubt Swann will be involved if the selectors go with Panesar. Ponting is absolute class, a fighter and got to be up there with all time greats of the game. He will out-think Pietersen and as the Aussies always do, they'll dig in and ultimately beat us. Should be a fantastic series though, with both sides struggling to even know who their best XIs are.
  10. Personally didn't think it was up to that much really. Longo - Easy Stars Allstars' OK Computer tribute was infectious as crack.... they did a Dark Side of the Moon one too which is pretty good.
  11. Angles by Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip Third by Portishead The Seldom Seen Kid by Elbow Quaristice by Autechre Songs in A+E by Spiritualized Knowle West Boy by Tricky
  12. "At christmas time, there's no need to be afraid" Well, statistics suggest that you should. Drink driving, murder, divorce and wife beatings are all higher than the national average in the month of December. Also, adverse weather conditions and minimal daylight worsen travelling conditions.
  13. "Feed the world" No Geldof, the only thing you've succeeded in feeding is your daughter's drug habit.
  14. He is a complete piece of shit.
  15. From reading the Times article previously posted, I think the rehabilitation programmes used by authorities in their secure units did work. Obviously observations etc. were done on Thompson and Venables throughout their eight years and if their doctors, parole officers, social workers or whoever believed them to be ready to come out then so be it. I disagreed with Troy that when they turned 18 they should have just been locked up in Strangeways or such like for another couple of decades, as that would have reversed the work put in to rehabilitate them. Simply dumping them in the prison system would not have improved them, nor society.
  16. You're suggesting that they face the real world for the first time as an adult at the age of 35? What next? The Ludovico technique? Incarcerating them for that amount of time would have done society absolutely no good whatsoever. The state of Thompson and Venables' conscience after that time would be unimaginable, and the chances of them re-offending would have been tenfold. Whilst their actions were unquestionably brutal, what society simply locks up two kids with absolutely no inkiling of the world around them and very limited grasp of how life works? It is wholly irresponsible. I will always maintain that locking people up is just wallpapering over the cracks. Prison does people no good at all. Venables and Thompson did a sickening thing, but the authorities were correct to do their utmost to aid their rehabilitation and reintroduction into society.
  17. Adlington. Looks like an aardvark, but I'd still do her.
  18. That's my favourite part, exactly what I did when I had my wallet nicked on my best mate's 21st birthday. Just sat on the steps of the hostel smoking. Proper gut-wrencher losing your cards, cash etc on a night out.
  19. October until February is a disconsolate duration of pure misery. I wish humans had the capacity to hibernate.
  20. In hindsight, this was coming wasn't it? Lots of big names going and not being replaced - Henry, Pires, Edu, Gilberto, Seaman, Cole, Vieira, Flamini, Bergkamp, Hleb, Campbell and maybe most importantly, David Dein. Couple that to Wenger's stubborn attitude and ego-massaging in continuing to play unproven and inexperienced players. Also boardroom unrest with that Russian dude and Yank struggling for power. And the stadium move cost them a shit load, too. I wouldn't write them off though, I remember when the mancs were shit for a couple of seasons and I did that.
  21. Complete bullshit. They don't need a new keeper anyway. Hart is a great player from what I've seen of him and Schmeichel is a good enough understudy, too. Just going off the point, does anyone think Buffon has one of the most over-inflated reputations in football? Seems just because he's an Italian keeper, he is by default the best in the world. I always preferred Toldo to him.
  22. What a gash weekend's football eh? Nobody could be fucked to play, seemingly.
  23. "We're sorry, this video is not available" Comedy gold.
